Why did he veto? (considering one of these).

Catherine was my deceased sister’s middle name but it was DH ex-gf name. I didn’t care, and was going to spell it differently. He was concerned that if she found out, she’d think it was after her it’s my 2nd daughters middle name

I LOVE Georgia. We didn’t have any girls though.

I liked Arlo for a boy, DH hated. DH liked Seamus (family name), I said no.

Ezra and Zion— DH said they were creepily religious.

I love Helen!

I tried for Helena but my DH was opposed. Still love it. Though I'm now glad we didn't go with it because it turns out we are really big nickname people (who knew?) and it would not have lent itself to the sorts of nicknames we like.

I had a bunch of Greek names I loved that DH vetoed: Helena, Calliope, Theia, Selene, Cassandra, and a bunch of others. I was a classics major.

Agree on Zion but I love the name Ezra. But I rejected it as too prevalent in recent pop culture, so sort of the opposite reason.

I mean the list would be too long to post here— there are so many potential names from Greek mythology— just Google. But some additional favorites are Diana, Athena, Penelope, and Iris. I also love Juno from Roman myth.

I will note that you should definitely read up on the mythology around the name before choosing.

Except Farrah is a name in the Middle East...

I know a Zion whom I met as toddler and I remember thinking, wow your family must be REALLY religious -- and they were (literally missionaries, etc.). I guess if you want to mark your kid, it works... but for me at least it really marked the kid.
