Fair enough.

Andrew.

Too generic for her…

Siobhan. DH immigrated from Ireland but has a last name that is often misspelled so he said he couldn’t do that with the first name

My husband actually suggested Nikki Marie for our first when I was about 6 weeks pregnant.

He was forever removed from the naming committee and given only veto power. I have always suspected he did that on purpose.

When we had our second daughter, though, we almost named her Veronica and I told my husband we could use the nickname Nikki ;P

DH vetoed August. Just as well, as it's more trendy than I realized.

I loved Malcolm. We're a white family. Several white people told us it's a black person's name, like Malcolm X. It's the only name I sometimes think back on and wish we'd used. My husband was put off by the seemingly shocked responses.

My cousin used Malcolm. Her kids are mixed race (black dad, white mom).

But I know several white Malcolms too, so I would not say it'd definitive. Like Malcolm Gladwell or the tv show Malcolm in the middle.

Malcolm gladwell actually does have black ancestry his mom is a descendent of slaves by way of Jamaica.
