That has started to happen: https://www.nbcnews.com/health/health-news/cdc-confirms-uptick-covid-19-found-wastewater-rcna20120 "Government scientists confirmed Tuesday that there has been an uptick in the presence of Covid-19 in wastewater samples across the U.S." However they also say that wastewater isn't tested nationally, so this might not be representative of an uptick everywhere. |
DP. Nah, just realistic. Immune compromised is the new gluten intolerant. There really aren't that many truly immune compromised people as are suddenly claiming to be. And if they are, they need to take personal agency and protect themselves, instead of thinking a snotty Paw Patrol mask on a 5 year old is going to do anything to protect them. |
It would work. That's basically what high-filtration masks are. But apparently some of us are too precious to wear them. |
This is an insane response and you have anger issues that must be affecting other parts of your life. Also..."Most of the rest of us got covid"...who is most of the rest of us? And why if you all are so careful? And wouldn't this make the argument that masks don't really work all that well then? It's even a confusing angry rant. |
The irony is that everything you said is the opposite of realistic. |
Nope, I have to agree with PP this is a textbook dick response. |
Go ahead - wear your high quality mask. No one is trying to stop you. But for people who are already vaxxed and had covid - they can make their own decisions, for example. |
Where's the irony? Be specific, please. |
DP. Right- something weird is going on here for this person to be lecturing while clearly not being careful themselves. I’d say we are rather middle of the road as far as Covid precautions go and we have a number of family members who are essential workers (including DH) but certainly not everyone has gotten Covid or died from it. |
It’s a dickish response but 100% true. Delivery was harsh but message is spot on. |
Sure. I mean, their brains might be 2% smaller, but they can still decide things. (joking, joking) |
What are you talking about? That response was 100% fire from someone directly impacted by this disease whose father and friends parents died from covid. Sorry it doesn't fit the "let it rip" or "covid is over" message you are pushing, but covid happened and many people died from it so try to deal with reality. |
So the part that is confusing is that a person who says they mask diligently and is around others who mask regularly and presumably takes covid very seriously, it is statistically odd that such a person would know so many people who died from covid and also it is statistically odd that such a person would say "most of the rest of us" got covid. Further, if so many of her masking friends and family who behave as they are supposed to behave got covid, what does that say about how well their behavior worked? See, it's confusing. |
Is it perhaps confusing to you because you have lost brain mass? PP's dad died before vaccines were available. And note the other people who also died were also parents of friends, so were in the vulnerable population of aged people. And how is it weird that PP knows many people who have gotten covid? People against masking in this very thread have been talking about the large number of people who have had covid. You just don't seem to like the fact that PP knows people who have gotten quite sick or died from covid, but your not liking it doesn't make it "confusing" for normal people, sorry not sorry. |
I mean, the news has been saying this stuff for weeks: people who have even mild cases of covid at greater risk of heart issues, at greater risk of stroke, at risk for other diseases due to lower level of T cells etc, and people start talking about some of the fallout they have seen and people hopped up on hopium are all "what are you talking about covid is mild and its over now amyway" etc. smdh |
