I hear what your husband is saying but as a counterpoint I had the worst throat ache I’ve ever had in my life a few weeks ago. Lost my voice, body aches and chills, coughing, just awful. I was sure I had Covid and got two pcr tests spread out over a few days and rapid tested every day. It wasn’t Covid. |
Yeah I have kids in daycare. We’ve had so many illnesses in the last year, and COVID was not especially distinguishable from the other crappy illnesses that went through us. The typical symptoms also keep changing— now it’s no longer typical to have a cough, etc. |
Just got over it last week. Assuming its new omicron. Day 1: dizzy, felt warm although not a fever, but a degree higher than normal for me (98.5 instead of my normal 97.5). Raspy voice. Tested negative Day 2: Sore throat, voice really raspy. Day 3: nose was running like crazy (but was thin mucus, I can see why people think its allergies), had mucus in the back of my throat that made me occasionally cough, but really not that bad. Sinus pressure. throat less sore Day 4: sore throat gone, I was told I sounded really stuffed up although I didn't really feel that stuffed up. Light cough. Day 5: still raspy and sounded stuffed up, but felt fine. |
Forgot to add I tested positive day 2. 2 shots, last one last april so a year ago |
Funny, I noticed the same thing about my DD- she had two days of sounding congested but she didn’t feel congested. |
What day did you test positive? |
The PP said day 2. |
My husband had this and didn’t get a positive test till after symptoms resolved. His doctor said he had several patients with the same issue. |
Hmmm I am PP and that is interesting. I guess in that case I either had seven false negatives or didn’t have Covid. Either way there is nothing I would have done differently. |
I agree. He had 3 negative at homes tests and 2 negative PCRs when symptomatic. If the doctor had not said something we would not have tested after the fact. I just thought it interesting that this was happening. |
Currently on day 4 and this is accurate for me. I would add body aches and headaches to day 1 and 2. It was not fun! |
Read through this twitter thread and the links by a Covid testing expert, Dr. Michael Mina. https://twitter.com/michaelmina_lab/status/1511569540743933961 What's happening with breakthrough infections in vaxed people is that the symptoms which appear so quickly are your immune system mounting a response, not a reflection of your infectiousness. |
Who do you think you’re fooling? The Chinese Communists shut down their OWN country while they kept flights going out to the whole world! And no, they were NEVER forthcoming with the true facts. They didn’t even allow that Wuhan lab to be inspected by international scientists. That Communist Regime is nothing but sheer EVIL. And now the entire world knows it. |
My family tested positive on about day 2 of the onset of symptoms, which started out like allergies (itchy eyes/throat, runny nose, sneezing). By day 3, it was more like a head cold (cough, congestion). My DH had a fever for about a day, but I did not. My DD (16) had no symptoms. |
This thread didn’t age well. |
