Exactly. If someone died from COVID because they didn't get vaccinated? Not my problem.

"We need to mask to save the hospitals from becoming overburdened" = never happened even at the peaks.

You're so immunocompromised that COVID is a threat even with a vaccine = you need to stay at home. Others masking outside isn't going to save you (and let's be honest - are you really, genuinely, immunocompromised?).

If only I could keep my (yes legitimately immune compromised self) home away from people like you who don't give a sh*t about my health or life. But we immune compromised people have to go to doctor's appointments, as well as take care of other life necessities, like work, and we still have to send our kids to (now mask optional) school. So your plan for us doesn't work so well but thanks for trying.

Honest question…how did you deal with flu season each year before covid?

How did you deal with HIV or STDs before Covid? Did you act like they were like a cold? Did you just deal?

How has HIV or STD transmission been affected by COVID?

Keep rolling the dice sister, FAFO how sick you can get.

Not in the least bit worries. Young and in perfect shape. Set PRs both running an lifting with Omicron and didn’t even know I had it until a tinder hookup called to say she was sick and I should take a rapid test.

Just that for the first month or so I bought all the fearmongering, stayed home to slow the spread etc. Was very easy to see after a month what was real and what was horsesht and will never fall for that again. Sorry you are still getting played.

How do you explain the data that show more deaths where COVID restrictions were lax?

Gross. So basically you gamble with disease routinely and believe a bunch of mothers should make decisions about our families based on your STD-ridden lifestyle.

DP. Age, race, socioeconomic status, vaccinations, obesity rates etc.

There is no stopping a highly contagious respiratory virus. It’s a fool’s errand.

Test and treat just makes this so much less of a big deal. I don't want to get sick, sure, but I don't think this thing is the menace it was two years ago.

What an ignorant, evil question. I'm a new poster to this thread. I'll answer. I basically ignored flu season. Then I lost my dad to covid before any vaccines were available. Then my three best friends lost parents.

Most of the rest of us got covid at one point or another, despite vaccines and masks. Some were fine; some got really sick; some still can't smell anything.

So here's my answer to you: The flu and covid are not the same, and you're an absolute ignoramus (that's not really the word I want to use) for insulting the PP like this. And if you don't die of covid, you'll die young of something else because you don't care about medicine or science or taking care of yourself or others in our society. So shut up, stop being so selfish, put on a mask, get your fourth vaccine if you're lucky, and try to contribute something to society instead of sounding like a complete moron.

They are both deadly and highly contagious. In the years before covid, tens of millions of people would get symptomatic flu, hundreds of thousands would be hospitalized, and tens of thousands would die. And if you are immune-compromised such that the covid vaccine won’t work, the flu vaccine wouldn’t work either. For a while, during 2009, the experts were even predicting that swine flu would cause mass death that would have dwarfed covid.

So, no, it was a legitimate question. Why wouldn’t susceptible people do what they have always done to protect themselves? Why now the fury that strangers won’t don masks (most of which are ineffective cloth masks) to protect others?

So, you’re suggesting people should wear condoms on their faces to avoid covid. Maybe that would work?

The explanation is obvious to anyone who gives this fifteen minutes of study.

Not PP but your response is a bit harsh. Seems like you were very unlucky to know so many negatively impacted by COVID, but this is not the norm and I am sorry to hear. Generally, immunocompromised people are more cautious about getting sick during the cold and flu seasons so this doesn’t seem like a crazy question to me. For most healthy people CoVID can be milder than the flu. This is especially true for children. So at what point do we decide that we are finished getting endless boosters of a vaccine that doesn’t really work very well long term and masking our low risk kids. High quality masks protect the wearer very well and anyone I know who is immunocompromised will continue to wear one and take precautions.
