| Could you imagine moving to Texas or FL and then having the laws changed like this? Between the pro-life laws and the anti-LGBT stuff in these states, I would be looking to get TF out of there. Who knows what next. |
Please use the correct term. These laws are forced birth. Words matter. |
And I was born grossly deformed, far from perfect. A couple of things went wrong and then oops, here’s a malformed one, unfixable and very expensive to raise. I guess I wasn’t a blessing from God. According to your logic I must be punishment from God. |
You’re naive. Permission is only necessary for those not in power. Those in power take what they want regardless of your “permission”. The police take you into custody without your permission. A bully knocks you down without permission. A judge takes your freedom without your permission. Government takes your life, your money and your right to choose without your permission. That’s the way it is. So if you really want to affect change towards your political philosophies, you need to gain power. |
If your parents accepted that responsibility, good for them. |
I think we all understand there are circumstances when you give up your rights. Such as when you commit a crime. Pregnancy is not one of those times. |
I think the PP’s point is that women and those that love them need to start doing what it takes to get the power necessary to shut this down. The right wing loonies are always talking about the Second Amendment as a check to government overreach. Maybe it’s time to arm up, ladies. |
And what? Start shooting forced birthers harassing people at existing clinics? I’m not sure that murdering forced birthers does anything for women’s rights. But now that I think of the history of the forced birther movement, the forced birther nutjobs have a history of harassing and intimidating women seeking any kind of cervical or uterine related service (be that a pap smear or birth control or an abortion), murdering abortion providers and blowing up and burning down clinics and they seem to be getting their way, so perhaps you’re on to something. |
DP. I credit this thread with educating me about the term "forced birth". It's absolutely more accurate. These people are the American Taliban and they are not pro-life in any sense of the word "life". |

If the government can force you to get a vaccination (under penalty of losing your job) then I really don’t see why they can’t also force you to carry a pregnancy against your will, either.
“Body Autonomy” went away last year. It’s gone, and it’s not coming back. The real irony is the people who were pushing mandatory vaccinations the hardest were often pro-abortion. Well, you helped create this mess. We now have a precedent of the government forcing you to get something you don’t want put into your body. The same authority you folks were celebrating when it came to giving people shots is now being used in some places to ensure that abortion is eliminated. You made this. Deal with it. |
Yep. There is a lot of truth to this. |
Vaccine mandates are not new. |
