In searching for an old thread that I could swear was titled something about forced birthers being monsters, I couldn’t find the thread I wanted, but I did find several other doozies.
Forced birthers think that 9 year olds should be forced to continue their pregancies, which, by definition, are 100% the product of rape: https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/1017481.page The Michigan GOP wants to go after birth control. That’s right, they don’t want women to be able to decide when they want to become pregnant. College? Career? What’s that? https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/1038402.page But because Republicans are the most uterine-obsessed people in the world, some forced birth politics in the news just recently: The Texas forced birth/punishing women because we hate them law is beginning to work as planned to punish women for existing. Sepsis wards, here we come!: https://www.npr.org/2022/02/28/1083536401/texas-abortion-law-6-months But for all the morons (Republicans) who claim to be “moderate Dems” who just looooooove Manchin (but do love him because he’s a Republican), don’t worry, he’s a forced birth nutjob too. And if you really are a “moderate Dem” who fell for the GOP framing the corporate media uses, time to reassess. If you think Manchin or other Republicans will protect your rights as a woman, think again. You’re expendable to them. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/02/28/abortion-senate-vote/ |
| They don't care about women. They don't care about kids. They only care about unborn babies. |
OP. No, they don’t care about them either. If they did they would fight for clean air and clean water (hello, Flint). They wouldn’t oppose aid and national health care. They don’t care about fetuses, they just hate women with every fiber of their being and want the patriarchy to stay all powerful. Even atheists, who, according to their allegedly enlightened thinking should be able to move past sexism and misogyny, support the patriarchy in this. It’s about punishing women. |
| We haven't had any abortion laws at all here in Canada for 30 years and the sky hasn't fallen. It is considered a medical procedure decided on between a woman and her doctor and nobody else's business. |
I could have been Canadian … makes me sad that my parents didn’t follow through with their plan. |
That's because you're a civilized country. The US is backwards in many ways, this being one of them. |
True dat. |
And further, there are plenty of Canadians who are anti-choice, yet for some reason our politics have never revolved around this issue. Everything in the US is bigger and not necessarily better, it seems. |
| The cruelty is the point. Research maternity homes. That’s the type of people who are pro-life. Shame the mothers, steal their babies, sell them to the faithful who are desperate to become parents to keep them in the fold. Starve the weaklings and undesirables and bury them in the yard. And these were the homes run by nuns! |
Yes, the cruelty is the point. I remain baffled by all the faux moderates who will do anything not to see it. OP. |
Exactly, this is why we will never be able to shame regressives into changing their ways. It's like telling Dr. Mengele "don't you see your patients are suffering?!" Well yeah, why do you think he's doing it? |
