The cruelty and misogyny of forced birth politics

To them pregnancy is woman's punishment for her sexuality, that is why they oppose it.
I do not believe that the fetus or it's rights have anything to do with the movement

And you are correct.

I am so freaking angry. "Activists" set fire to my local Planned Parenthood back in December and ever since then I have just felt so helpless watching everything move backwards. I feel so defeated, I have no idea how we're going to win this fight.

OP Does anyone remember that commercial from a few months ago in which a teenaged girl and her mother get pulled over and forced birthers assured us that no, that would never happen?

Hey, dinguses: your disgusting dreams of a Handmaid’s state are about to come true.

How would they even enforce that? Are they going to track who buys a pregnancy test and then leaves the state?

On a state by state basis, weirdly.

Every day, the “pro life” right wing makes the case for why they need to be spayed/neutered. No girl should be raised in a home where her mom believes she is little more than breeding stock. This is real child abuse.

Forced birth. It’s not pro life.

Does anyone know of a good lawyer to follow on Twitter about the abortion fight? I follow Marc Elias for info on voting rights lawsuits and it makes me feel so much better to hear from someone "in the trenches" actually doing something. Anyone similar for abortion lawsuits?

Imani Gandy (though she does insist on using the tedious “pregnant people”) https://twitter.com/AngryBlackLady?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor and Jessica Mason Pieklo https://twitter.com/Hegemommy?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor
