it is mcps's -and specifically Northwest HS's in this case - responsibility to ensure the safety of their students. that means getting reassigned if necessary. hope BOE acted in the student's best interest. |
+1 BTDT it’s just a dog and pony show. The BOE just rubber stamps the MCPS position to deny the transfer or another placement. They do nothing to address bullying in schools. Look at all the fights this year. They say no bullying occurred instead of protecting the victim. |
Is there a Go Fund Me to help with funeral expenses and legal fees so she can get some form of justice? |
My DD (6 years later) still has emotional scars for the sexual assault by a classmate in a MCPS high school. Being forced to be in a room with him would be traumatizing. |
Wrong. When your child's needs aren't being met you ask the school for a different placement. This is done for thousands of kids every year. The law this falls under is called FAPE. Free, APPROPRIATE, education. Students are sent to different schools of their intellectual level is higher or lower than peers. If their social skills are different than peers, if they have genetic disorders, even if they have adhd and for some reason their needs aren't met in the classroom at the home school. It sounds like she asked, was denied and appealed to the board of education and was denied again. We don't know the reason for her claim but whatever the reason was probably behind why her child was being bullied and she was right. Northwest was an inappropriate placement for her child. |
I mean.. this had to be the board of education member that keeps posting her. Right? Mom to board of education: please help my son. He is being bullied at school and I fear for his safety. Board: no. And then the child (who is a 6 foot tall guy, not someone an unknown kidnapper would lure away) is found dead in the woods. Evidence at the scene leads the police to treat this as a homicide. You are lower than than scum st the bottom of a pond to co.e on this board and try to cast doubt about what happened to that mother's baby. |
You're speculating a whole lot here. Why not wait for the facts to come out? |
Yes, people continue to elect the same type of people. |

The kind of people who would accuse a grieving mother of lying are just unfathomable to me.
I will say, when our child was assaulted and bullied at a well-regarded middle school, not only did the school administration refuse to punish the aggressors, but they accused my child of asking for it. Since some of the aggression was sexual, this was beyond the pale. Furthermore, although our transfer was approved, the initial COSA was denied and "no evidence of bullying" was cited, although in fact there was a wealth of evidence, including police reports, doctor's reports, and video. They wanted so badly to sweep the entire thing under the rug that they let us leave, but disguised the reason. By that point we were all so angry and disgusted that all we wanted to do was go so we took the deal. I'm not against MCPS as a whole and I think it's quite a stretch to blame this tragedy on the entire system. I suspect it's more like our case: some individuals dropped the ball. I'm sure it happens all the time. |
The mother of the dead child blamed the board of education after the police gave her information that reporters don't have. Seems like a logical conclusion but I sure do hope they investigate and make public exactly what happened and why |
I will add I didn't realize until I read this that the BOE were the ones denying our COSA. I thought it was the school we wanted to leave. The principal in charge of that school, the one who swept it under the rug, got a big promotion a year or so later. I wonder what exactly was presented to the BOE. |
| I'm so sad for this family |
So you have now shifted from trying to discredit a grieving mother to parroting language used after police shoot someone? Some this is wrong with you. Like deeply and seriously. |
I have never seen a post get pushed down to page 2 so quickly. Who's trying to hide the board of education 's complicity? |
Why are Montgomery County residents so demented? |
