MCPS closed tomorrow 1/3

That’s what private schools do on poor weather days. With computers, why not teach online for one day when weather is bad? It’s better than a no school option. Ugg.

Playing outside in the fresh air is exactly what is needed right now. Everyone is so stressed and anxious regarding Covid right now.

They’ve had ten days off but now it’s important that they play in the fresh air.

Well, there is nothing like playing in the snow. Kids will be ok.
January will be tough with Covid + weather but hopefully Covid rates will start going down by the end of January

A virtual day due to snow. There should never be a snow day
Ever again. Everyone has a chrome book at home with them.

MCPS is a joke. And honestly their should never be a closure due to snow. It’s going to snow, then report to work 2 hours early to be ready. Get the busses on the road an hour early. To be waiting at the stops.

Northern states have this down to a science, no reason this county can’t too.

The federal government closes for weather too, genius. Is this your first day on planet earth or something?

Has OPM announced a closure of Federal offices as of right now? What information does MCPS have that the Federal government does not? Or DCPS, Fairfax and Arlington Public Schools, etc?

Yes, OPM has already announced that federal government will be closed tomorrow, says this USG employee.

But KiDS DiDNT LeArN AnYtHInG last year…seen more “stay closed, don’t go virtual… just extend school into July and august” posts in the last few days than ever before. No one can win with the people in this county.

Your keyboard seems to be broken. Might want to look into a new one.

Congratulations for being the 5,000th person DCUM to make this idiotic "joke." When you go to the grocery store, be sure to tell the clerk "if it doesn't scan, it must be free. HAHAHAHA I'M SO FUNNY."

You mean the people who clamor to live in this county only to complain about living in this county? I say if you are not happy, truck it up to Frederick County or PG County and see how you like it there. Either deal with it, help run this county or get out.

You all demanded no virtual you got it. Stop complaining.

So, now our kids who are in virtual miss a day of classes.

Why did they make my kid haul his chromebook, all of his textbooks folders and notebooks home "just in case we have to go virtual " and then just shut the entire thing down for snow which hasn't started falling yet?

The sad thing is it's the same person making the joke 5000 times.

Stupid closing school, guarantee mall, Chipotle and Starbucks filled with kids all afternoon

"Virtual learning is garbage! Why isn't there more of it?"

MCPS parents in a nutshell. No wonder they can't get any decent superintendent applicants.

Former DMVer here. Get ready to clutch your pearls honey, because it doesn't get much more northern than this, and up here in the tundra we close sometime and don't opt for virtual for just a snow day.
