All MCPS Schools to CLOSE Mon. Jan. 3, Due to Expected Severe Weather Conditions
Montgomery County Public Schools will be CLOSED, Monday, Jan. 3, due to expected severe weather conditions. All school and community activities in school buildings also are canceled. All school administrative offices and central offices will open on a two-hour delay. Daycare programs in school buildings may open by 9. |
| So stupid |
| Everyone gets these alerts in triplicate across emails, texts, etc. |
| Ugh. Teen and I are both ready for school again. |
Great!
|
| They are covering because of the covid ridiculousness. It’s not even raining out. |
Welcome to DCUM where we also post notices too. |
| Yay! Now if only they can announce virtual learning. |
|
YAY!!! SO HAPPY!!
I was all set to do a fake "My kid is not feeling well COVID symptom etc" post. Hooray!! I am so happy. |
| What does school administrative offices mean? |
| My son is doing the happy dance—high school. |
|
This “severe weather” closure defies existing protocols and procedures for weather based delays and closures.
The credibility of MCPS is fully gone at this point. This is the epitome of of poorly run school systems and it starts from the top. |
Don’t forget all the parents who post about the closing on the school listserv, neighborhood listserv and FB! |
| Snow as an excuse. The staffing shortage is the main issue which exploded today. Multiple kids and parents receiving notice directly from teachers about being inflected. We are not returning to in person this week. Perhaps not in the next one either. Rest assured. |
| And the irony here is they could have done Virtual instead of a total school closure? |
