I enjoy reading Bethany on Twitter and find her to be very intelligent, a quick study, a clear, articulate writer, and she has a really good sense of humor. And, she's very pretty. Maybe that's too much for some people to handle.

(And, of course, I'm not her. I just hate to see people gratuitously attacking kind people.)

Is she considered pretty?
I googled her ( had never heard of her before this). She seems rather unremarkable. Not ugly by any means, but nothing of note.
Which is perfectly fine. Her looks shouldn’t be of consequence. At least not in this forum. It’s just weird to specifically comment on her looks.
I wouldn’t think that has played a part in whatever success she’s enjoyed. Which is probably good. She wants people to listen to her. It shouldn’t be about looks.
Of course now that I’ve listened to her…. Not much there either.

Please don’t take the bait on discussing her looks. PP is probably Bethany intentionally bringing that up to make that the subject so she can cry victim again. No one is here to bash her looks or talk about her kids. Just to take issue with the vile opinions she makes a living hawking.

She just doesn’t seem to have anything new to say. There isn’t any depth or nuance. I’m just a little puzzled by how she has an amplified voice.
I don’t spend any time on Twitter, so I guess that’s part of the problem.

1) She doesn't really have an amplified voice.
2) She has a voice because she masquerades as a moderate Republican, even though actual Republicans in this thread think she's more MAGA than she lets on. I.e., kids book about Rush Limbaugh
3) I am annoyed with myself for participating in this thread knowing damn well that it will feed her ego.

You’re calling us petty but you’re the first person who brought up how they look.

+1. Not to mention most of what the PP said is just false, and the rest aren't attributes to brag about. Bethany is extremely mean-spirited on twitter. She mocks anyone with different views from her or who she thinks is not living the "right" way. She has endless vitriol for teachers, of all people. She thinks she's smarter than everyone else and makes that very clear. The PP was obviously written by her or one of her friends.

Speaking of her friends, on instagram the other day she was bemoaning the fact that other parents exclude her kids because of "her politics" and that this is a pattern that happens everywhere she lives. Bethany, since you are clearly reading here, it's not your politics - it's just you!

It's pretty clear that she's overcompensating and hasn't resolved the trauma from her tumultuous teenage years.

I get it - she wants the stability and companionship for her kids that she never had. But this abrasive, know-it-all Twitter persona is not the way to do it. Her kids are going to read all these Tweets one day and its going to hit them like a ton of bricks.

Not only her tweets, but the stuff she posts on instagram is enough to make her kids disown her when they're older, imho. She's very sanctimonious about ~never posting their faces~ so she only posts photos and videos where they are turned away from the camera. But she posts every minor detail of their lives to the point where even a casual follower could tell you about each kids' personality, likes and dislikes, health issues and embarrassing moments. (As someone mentioned earlier on the thread, everyone who follows her knows which kid who pooped in the pool and got to closed down, for instance.) The fact that she hasn't posted their names or faces isn't going to save them when they become adults and people easily make the connection to their internet famous parents. I truly think that once these kids figure out how much their mom has told the world about them, they're going to be gutted.

Disclaimer for Bethany - this doesn't count as talking about your kids online. It's talking about you and your parenting, which you've decided to base your public persona around.

Always melodrama with this one. I remember a few months ago my mom and I saw her tweet ranting about the fact that her pediatrician had separate cups for clean and dirty pens. We thought it was the most hysterical thing that, of all things in the world happening right now, this was Bethany's biggest concern right now: sanitized pens.

She was manic about the fact that "COVID ISN'T SPREAD VIA SURFACES THIS IS JUST THEATER." Madame, it's a pediatrician's office. I agree covid may not be spread from a pen at a pediatrician's office, but sick kids have a lot of germs that are spread via touch. Cold. Flu. Stomach bug. Pink eye. Those were my first assumptions about germs they were trying to wipe away when she tweeted that. For someone who claims covid isn't a big deal, it's certainly ever-present in her deranged mind.

Maybe on Instagram but I read her tweets occasionally and I couldn't tell you the first thing about her kids, other than one was born in a car.

What is her fascination with urban millennials who have pets that they treat like kids?

I adopted my cat before I had dc. She was a bit spoiled and treated like a baby, because, well, she's adorable and also at the time was the closest thing I had to a baby. It didn't mean I didn't want kids, it just meant that I enjoyed taking care of things and wanted to take care of a cat.

She seems to hate any life choices that deviate from her own. Classic insecurity.

That's not just her. Take a look at the DCUM pets forum sometime if you want to hear a bunch of insane people being insane about animals. Maybe she's one of the people who likes to start these crazy thread about how people with pets are sad, lonely husks of people and should be mocked and shunned. It is truly bizarre.

I think it's a Republican thing in general. JD Vance (running for Senate in OH) said that the United States is being held hostage by "cat ladies." He meant democratic voters; he thinks women who own cats and Democratic voters are synonymous. Which is news to me as a conservative woman who owns a cat but what I also support Liz Cheney so I think to JD Vance I'm just a cat lady. Ah well!

But Bethany has a dog!!! And honestly the best part of that was her buying the dog and announcing "I won't be lectured about going through a breeder instead of adopting!!!!!" when literally no one said anything to her. It's like the meme.

No one:
Not a soul:
Bethany: Excuse me, you're not going to lecture me on going through a breeder instead of adopting!!! I made my choice for MY family, you can't make it for me!

She acted like she was constantly being beaten with sticks for getting some kind of poodle mix when pretty much every white person I know in the DC area has a poodle mix they got from a breeder.

Listen. You have two choices in this life. You can either be a conservative breeder with no pets or a liberal cat lady with no kids. Women can be one of two things, and those are the two things. That's it, that's all you get.

My dh is hotter than Seth. Guess I'm just better than Bethany since you seem to think looks are everything.

We call him The Meth Sandal on Twitter.

I thought that was just a joke because he was a conservative who deigned to vote for Biden not to do with his looks! Y’all are mean, Seth isn’t Paul Newman but he doesn’t look like a meth head!

It's a play on his name - no one thinks he's a meth head.

Ah, you were responding to a post about his appearance so I thought you were implying they are related. My bad.

Well, Bethany is not a kind person, so I guess we're good here!
