The Jewish people have had many struggles over the millennia. I'm not trying to hide it. It's just not relevant here even though you keep bringing it up. Go start a new thread if you want to discuss it. Of course, if you do think it's relevant, please describe the struggles of black Americans and describe the similarities and differences. If you don't understand the history and experience of black Americans then why do consider yourself qualified to judge them? |
| Since seats at elite Universities are so low in number with such great demand, they should be treated as a commodity. We live in a capitalist country so they should sell the seats to the students that can afford the highest tuition. If someone can afford 10 million a year then they should get in over someone that can only afford 80k or 100k a year. If they want to allow in some affirmative action poors that can only afford 100k a year because they have great test scores then that's fine too. |
Easy if your skin is white and you are not automatically targeted. |
OP or the PP - would you care to answer? |

Who is this weird poster who will not stop posting about the Jews and is preventing this thread from being a discussion about the challenges of affirmative action and the lifting up if the poor African Americans in this country
I even get a sense that they are victim blaming |

The argument for affirmative action has been argued over and over and consistently wins because America must account for the sins of its past. Hmmm... actually not just the past. This idea that money is somehow protective of racism is laughable, not in the way that this country was designed. |
I'm wondering... Is it the Farrakhan poster and/or the poster who is constantly posting about crimes against Jewish people in NYC? Similar undertones. |

Federal judge rules Harvard does not discriminate against Asian Americans in admissions

Headline is outright false. Judge did admit discrimination against Asian Americans, but said that discrimination is legal in the interest of diversity. WaPo is becoming BuzzFeed. |
Me thinks some have an over-inflated sense of self worth. I hate when people blame affirmative action instead of looking for personal growth. |
| Looking at "Whole person" is like a company looking at "cultural fit" as a way of discriminating against older people. How can you legally argue against "cultural fit" and " whole person"? |
| Be a recruited athlete at Harvard. That’s an 86 percent admit rate. I wonder what it would be for a legacy recruited athlete. |
DP here, the 32 second summary... AA-Slaves = Ancient Jewish slaves, Jewish slave labor ww2 AA terrorized by KKK, jim crow, extra judical hangings = Jewish Pogroms, Nazi Germany, Spanish Inquisition, Rhineland massacres and countless other historical events, massacares, ethnic cleansings over several thousand years, jewish social exclusion, property rights exclusion, blood libel, anti-jewish actions by the catholic church AA's restricted college admisions = Jewish Restricted College admissions AA's restricted trades= Jews restricted trades/professsions (in the Jewish case for thousands of years) AA removed from their homeland = Jews removed from their homeland living as disporia for 2000 years, later Jews expelled from England, France, Germany, Spain and Portugal Yeah totally dissimiliar.... The jew's suffered far more discrimination, for a far longer period of time, with far more severity, yet they were able to survive and thrive when society liberalized. |
You think poor white "trash" as you call them, are better than wealthy educated black people? Sounds like you are some kind of a Nazi. |
| Ruling will be appealed. With current makeup of USSC they will take the case and overturn the ruling. Anyhow, who cares anymore. Just pay to get your kid in like Huffman and Loughlin, or have your kid juice up and get in on a sports scholarship. |
