Murder at Lululemon in Bethesda

More details emerged from the hearing. They did not let Norwood out of jail and she appeared via satellite in jail. Here is the article. Pretty disgusting what she did to Jayna: http://www.tbd.com/articles/2011/03/lululemon-murder-suspect-norwood-in-court-56917.html

Sorry my PP said they did it via satellite and I thought it read it somewhere and cannot find the other article now. If I am incorrect sorry.

You can't fire someone because you suspect them of stealing, if you could, then anyone you wanted to fire you could just say, I suspected they were stealing. I imagine if this is true that they were probably suspicious of it, and tracking it from the loss prevention department at the lululemon head office, and decided to transfer her to gain additional evidence. (if this is true that she was transfered because of possible theft) I don't believe it, knowing the lululemon culture, if she was thought to be stealing, then she probably would not be a great fit there anyways and they could find something else to let her go for.

Here is the latest -

Not much new, but she worked at the Georgetown store before Bethesda, not Tysons.

I smell a civil suit against Lululemon. Transferred because she was suspected of stealing??she should have been fired!!

I agree...crazy! If she was suspected of stealing, she should have been fired. Not that anyone could have predicted what she was capable of, but still.

Yikes. Someone in HR at Lululemon is sh***ing bricks right now for approving that transfer.

He didn't snitch, they record all conversations. And they can release the transcripts to the public.

I used to work at a Lululemon in Canada and it is common practice to bag check everyone before we leave the store. Every single time we enter and then leave the store we must have our bags checked by a manager. So I bet Jayna checked Brittany's bag when they were leaving and found merchandise in it. And that is likely what started the fight.

yes...bag checks are common practice in most retail. However, if that happened when they were closing, and then Brittany lured her back, then it is definitely pre-meditated. Brittany was probably unaware that Jayna had already reported her to the manager.

What an ignorant attitude. Please don't perpetuate this ignorance by repeating this phrase. So many unsolved murders and killers on the loose because of people like you.

Maryland is an at-will state. They can fire anyone as long as they aren't doing it in retribution for claims or due to discrimination.

"State's Attorney John McCarthy says Brittany Norwood beat Jayna Murray so many times it was impossible to count. The blows to her head were so severe that her spinal cord was severed"

wow...they should put her in solitary confinement for the rest of her life

It is amazing to me that this happened. You compare what was at risk for this Norwood woman: the loss of a $10 an hour job (if she stole some yoga pants, we're probably not even talking about prosecution), and you compare that to the brutal crime she committed ..it's just stunning.
