Oh please. Even a Walmart sells lean meat and fruit/vegetables that are easy to prepare and with minimal effort will taste better than frozen pizzas or whatever other crap they sell. Once you start eating this way, it will not take long for most fast food to taste bad. |
You don’t even have to “cook” though. Keep whole grain cereals on hand, whole grain breads and lean meats to make sandwiches with, nut butters. Some fresh fruits and vegetables. Cool dinner most nights. No need to buy junk and processed snacks. No one needs Cheetos mid day |
"Just follow Goop's food habits, you peasants!"
Summary of this thread. |
Whole great bread and deli meats are full of added sugar. That's the whole point - regular food is no better than junk. |
I know. Tell it to America's food industry. Fresh salsa, as well as bread, deli meats, condiments, etc do not need sugar, but here we are ![]() ![]() |
No it isn’t “full” of it. It is minimal. You can find several without sugar if that is super important to you, but even if you don’t check closely, a turkey sandwich on regular whole wheat with an apple is not Making anyone obese. |
^ it is the McD, hot pockets, frozen taquitos, chips, soda, Doritos, boxed cookies, snack cakes, etc. coupled with large portions are making people obese. Not the 1 gram of sugar in a slice of whole wheat bread |
100 percent this. |
Keep telling yourself that until all 100% of Americans are overweight with metabolic issues. Well, they'll probably will move the scale and redefine what overweight means just like they did with blood sugar criteria for pre-diabetic numbers (and clothing sizes) |
LMAO. That turkey sandwich with mustard is definitely the culprit. |
This thread reads like the Victorian ideas that the wealthy are deserving bcs they worked hard and deserve their riches. The poor are poor, not bcs of the misfortune of circumstances, but bcs they are lazy, undeserving, and stupid.
Let us remembered that most rich in Victorian England never lifted a finger! Imagine if the skinny here admitted that they are skinny bcs of nothing they really do or because they had some fortuitous circumstances bestowed upon them by nothing more than the mere chance of birth or environmental and economic factors? They would be de facto surrendering their moral superiority! How will they have the upper hand to feel superior to all peasants and gluttons? It is their willpower, their moral strength, that makes them thin! That is why they are better than 2/3 of the population, and those super skinny ones... well, you might be rich, but they are clearly morally superior and stronger than you bcs they are thin due to their own personal strength! |
This is absolutely correct. I tried to explain it, too, in the beginning but I realized that people choose to blame only 'added sugar' because then they are not at fault for making bad choices. Hey, manufacturers are fooling us, we can't do it anything about it (even read a label, apparently). No, it's not about only *added* sugar, it's about overall carbs and calories. |
You can buy “whole grain” bread and turkey from Walmart and it’s going to be filled with preservatives and sugar. Bread that has a shelf life of months? Seriously?
You just don’t get how the quality of food can impact your life. |
It’s not about being thin. I know some very thin people that are very sickly. My friend’s model thin DD has diabetes. |
Yes, the whopping 2-3 g of sugar per slice. https://www.google.com/search?q=whole+grain+nutrition+label&client=ms-android-xiaomi&prmd=isnv&sxsrf=ALeKk0233fVwq3rfZJzlDsp1BBUPszg5Dg:1624986253463&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjmzpvDqb3xAhWNK3cKHctFAVMQ_AUoAXoECAIQAg&biw=360&bih=592&dpr=2 |
