Harry and Meghan are estimated to be worth $50 million. Can we stop acting like they’re helpless people?

Kate drives her kids to school or the pottery painting place, Meghan went to NYC twice for her baby shower and the US Open, they went on vacations outside of the country, but they took her passport away?

The RF was very pissed about the shower. She was told not to do it and they were very offended by it.

So they get to take her passport? Creepy.

She did a lot of traveling for someone without a passport.

Like Kate did? In order to win over the public opinion and the press and be a good sport working royal?
And if she is a Black woman, she should keep her mouth shut, never complain, have no opinion of her own, and understand that it was a joke that her kid might be a darkie?
And that she should not have married into a racist family and called them out on it, cause... well that is her fault too?

She knew what she was getting into, yes, they are a royal British stiff upper lipped family. I wouldn’t have the balls to attempt to change a family like this. She has balls, this Meghan.

Sure, then YOU better never complain about your MIL, MIL, DH, or any single member of your IL family! For all the dcum whiners cutting of ILS left and right also knew what you were getting into? But, no, you all love whining about being victims, but when I black woman does it, she is out of line!

I have a MIL and SIL with borderline personality, narcissism, histrionic, alcoholism, what have you. My DH is on spectrum and has ADHD along with severe anger issues. FIL left the family high and dry when his kids were small. Its a mess and I am now a part of it. I didn’t know quite how bad it would be, of course I had a small idea, it is indeed awful, but this is what I chose. It’s been 22 years and counting now. I can’t change these people.

Look, I couldn't care less about a title. But if my child were entitled to a title by virtue of who is other parent is but then that family was going to change the rules to deprive MY child of that title - I'm damn sure I'd have a problem with that too.

That was her point. Why did they do that?

They DIDN’T do it. That’s the whole point. They discussed it, but he wouldn’t even be granted the title until Charles ascended the throne (who knows when that will be) and Charles has made it clear he intended to streamline things anyways. So this is all much ado about nothing.

You are missing the point. The point is that they said he wouldn't get a title. When he would have been granted the title if they didn't make this decision is irrelevant - they decided he wouldn't get it when eligible. He would be treated differently. In the context of everything going on - herself being treated differently - she had a problem with that. I would too even if the deprivation wouldn't happen until later when the child was eligible for the title. Imagine having to explain to your child that you didn't object years ago when the decision was made.

Yes, they clarified that about 3 times. The title confers security. Absence of title = absence of security. The most telling part is: Those are the rules; I don't make the rules, but you're the royal family. Reminds me of the bodega owner on Seinfeld who wouldn't take down the bounced check, despite owning the store.

They had security until March 2020. That’s the first thing.

Second, Archie could’ve been made prince with a new letters patent, if Harry and Meghan asked for it. To my knowledge, they did not ask for it.

Obviously no one knew that Harry would marry a WOC and the implications of such, but the smart thing to do would've been, when Kate was pregnant and they announced the change of rules, also announce: "The future children of Prince Harry will not have royal titles, in the hope that they may lead their own lives"

Does the BRF have their passports and driver's licenses to use or not?

It's hard to feel sorry for anyone who has this kind of wealth and opportunity in life and still has the audacity and feel the need to have to whine to Oprah. "The family cut off our funds..... and now all we have is this other 13 million that my mom left me. And I have to pay for all of my own security plus a a $15M mortgage. How will we ever survive? And no one ever asks if I'm ok! And I just want protection and to feel safe! And can you believe our baby doesn't get a royal title? The nerve. Get real please.

Well for those on here who live in a $1million does that mean you are not living in reality. The average cost of a house in the US is $200,000, so you heifers live in fantasy land with your 1million dollar plus tear downs. Somehow that does not stop many of you from lamenting about your husbands or children not getting into UVA.

A $1 million house in a trendy area of So Cal like Montecito is a shack. $15M is huge and ostentatious. They want a public royal life without the responsibilities and thus can fund it themselves instead of crying about it like two college students who need to be supported by mom and dad.

I do think the decision to buy an ostentatious mansion is telling. They could have purchased a home for 1/3 the price and it would be have been gorgeous large and private. https://www.redfin.com/city/24388/CA/Montecito

To me they did seem the most bitter about money-related issues. If they were still being funded by Charles, they wouldn't have done this interview, trust.

What has transpired has made wonder about the further relationships of William’s children. This kind of hierarchy in a family seems like it just sets up everyone for resentment and jealously whether you’re the heir or the spare. Who knows if having two spares will make it better or worse for them in the future.

They aren't changing it to deprive YOUR child of that title. It will apply to all other children in this situation.

Maybe. But personally I’d like to see more juicy gossip leaked because I could care less about the royals nor entitled people crying about titles that mean nothing. It’s sick but fun entertainment.

The title does mean something : access to security. A big deal!

Now that they have completely trashed his family and country, they can pay for their security like celebrities do for themselves. They wanted to break free to make the big bucks, right?

Not working? No security!

?

They already have been. Said in the interview security was discontinued in 2020.

Thanks Alex. Now give me “Things I already know” for $1,000

It is rich of them to complain about security being cut off at all! They wanted to go out in the world and get rich? Then there should have been zero expectation of any security provided by the Royal family/British taxpayers/ Canadians the moment they left their roles as working royals.

The world has gone to hell over this past year, and we listen to some basic cable actress, sitting in the backyard of her multi-million dollar Santa Barbara mansion with Oprah, whine about how her son (who is not a prince) isn’t getting free protection courtesy of some other country. People all over the world have had real struggles in this past year. Loss of income, death, mental stress from being locked down, etc.

And we are treated to this vulgar display? Aside from some celebrities, no wonder most people are keeping their violins in their cases.

And yes, this is sick entertainment. Emphasis on the word sick. Harry and Meghan completely threw his family under the bus knowing full well that they are not able to defend themselves. They made a very specific claim of racism attributed to no person in particular with the knowledge that the royals can’t and won’t push back. Imagine how Harry’s family are feeling today. Angry, hurt, confused and humiliated.

Remember that when Harry and Meghan go about preaching about kindness and mental health in the future.

Welcome to the royal family! That’s how it’s always been in every royal family.

You people are so obtuse. She HAD a passport. As in she owned a passport. She was not in physical possession of it. Once she was 'in' there were people who handled all of that for her. Which was great, until she wanted to go somewhere totally of her own free will.

These children are born into the situation. THey are famous and pursued whether they choose it or not. They simply can't just go and live a little life and be safe without extensive security. They certainly have tones of advantages but being thrust into fame is not one of them.

Kate has a healthy, close family and hopefully with seeing three generations of MESSY spares, they'll try to avoid that. Time will tell...
