Never Been Married- 45 Year Old Woman

Anonymous
Re-entered the dating world after a 15 year marriage ended amicably, fwiw. Two kids, split custody, no lawyer etc. All good, no hate.

Started dating with Bumble, Hinge, Tinder and the never married mid 40s women are just- God help me for being honest here-super duper odd. Like, no wonder they never married.

What is that? They're OK to casually date, but the idea that it would go further is just a nonstarter. This isn't just for me, btw. Male friends and colleagues all report the exact.same.thing.

What is it? And more importantly, where do I find the 'normal' ones?

There probably aren’t too many normal 45 year old women who have never been married.

Is that the type of woman you swipe right on only?
I think it goes for both genders.

On the other hand, I was just rejected by a guy because I have 3 kids. It is what it is

Young Jedi. You must go much younger. Much younger. I’m 52 and perhaps similar stats as you. My current girlfriend is 38 and never married. Loves me to pieces. She’s quite normal. As far as women go. Lol. Seriously. There’s a reason men go for the younger ones. Or find a nice divorced one who is older. I’ve had that situation for a while.

Are you opposed to dating a mid-40s woman who is divorced or widowed? Men who remain single in their mid-40s also tend to be underdeveloped in either social skills or emotional intelligence.

Why are you looking at never married women if you yourself have been married?

Eh. I am 43 and think I’m pretty normal. But I have a lot of scissors in online dating so maybe that’s why. Maybe my competition is not tough. I get lots of attention. I’m dating someone seriously now though so haven’t been on in a while.

OP here.

No. No problem with divorced women or widows (rare at my age- 47) but my filters still catch the never married mid 40s and those women are weird. Like, one on Tinder an hour ago asking me if I really 'needed' to spend time with my kids 'every weekend you have them."

Like, WTF?

I preferred it as scissors.

If you have kids, you will have more luck dating women who already have kids. The only never married 45+ woman who will want to date you will be one who wishes she had been able to be a mother.
