I beg to differ. A 45 year old never married woman wasn’t able to find anyone to begin with

Not necessarily--maybe they found and passed on the men they had the option to marry? Happens way more than you think. A lot of women just get married to the first guy that asks or they trick into it.

maybe, maybe not. Some people are single by choice. Look at all the miserable married people--what sane person would want to join those ranks?

I'm also a woman. The only change I'd make to this statement is that I find that they often understand everything except themselves. They're smart, but in no way that matters.

The marital bias is strong in this forum. Of course it is comprised mainly of people that are in inhappy marriages, so that explains it.

Lol at you and your entire cadre of "male friends and colleagues" collectively dismissing an entire demographic of women as crazy (one of the laziest and most common ways men dismiss women) because their life experiences don't match yours. Did you understand parenting or cohabitating before you did it? These are two of the most formative experiences of life. And guess what? They're unsuccessful for lots of people. See also: you and your "all good, no hate" divorce.

You want women with maturity and wisdom but absent the baggage that helps develop it. Talk about unrealistic expectations.

I love you.

OP- these are the freaks youre encountering.

Wait--so now women who don't need a man to complete them and aren't needy and cloying are freaks? hahaha. Hilarious. Women can't win. They get a man and the men complain the sex isn't often enough or they're nagging them to pull their weight around the house because they're too lazy and self-involved to do it without being asked a hundred times or whatever, so the men use that as an excuse to have an affair and get out of the marriage they signed up for and then STILL complain about women by bi$ching about the women on the market who won't give them the time of day and blame it on the women by calling them freaks, weird, not a catch etc. Meanwhile, the only one complaining is the man who created this mess in the first place.

Yes, I am.

God grant me the confidence of a mediocre white man.

Lol, most of the craziest women I know are married. They are also the most manipulative.

It’s because marriage sucks.

OP, what you 'really' want is a woman to clean up after you, and the kids you have half the time. No never-married no kids woman is going to sign up for that!

You might find a divorced, somewhat younger mom, who is willing to be your housekeeper/maid, but the price you'll pay is-she is going to want a lock-down baby with you.

Lean in author sherly Sandburg who got widowed with 2 kids and is 50 years old, got engaged to a 45 year divorced with kids hottie. Older women can marry younger men.

Her money is clearly the draw

I’m in my late 40s married with kids, and I don’t think 45 year old never married women are “weird” per se but they have just gotten used to a very different life experience. I have several coworkers in this category and they are just very used to structuring their own time, can be somewhat set in their ways and are maybe a bit understandably oblivious about the demands of life with kids.

The most controlling women I have encountered are SAHM's. They are used to being the captains of their little ships, and won't give any ground when trying to make the most insignificant of plans.

Perhaps that playdate or lunch logistics feel important to them, because of how they spend their days??
