| Is Jeff Sullivan’s wife a staff development teacher at Churchill? |
That is so not true. Especially for foreign languages. There are kids of all ages mixed in. |
| Also, even if they are not in the same classes, the older men and younger girls can meet in the restrooms. Don’t you remember the Rockville case last year? |
Ugg. That might explain why there's two child predators on staff as coaches at Churchill. |
One is also a teacher who texted students, gave students gifts, and had children alone in his car. Great staff development and training to prevent child abuse. |
Even if someone wanted to, how could you possibly go pull the court file based on the info provided? They don't index cases by teacher schtupping student. |
I don’t know much about the Churchill situation, but the staff development position has nothing to do with child abuse prevention training. That is all pushed out directly by the county to teachers. We complete it online. In my experience, staff development teachers do very little actual training of any kind. At my school they run the monthly staff meeting and then act as an assistant administrator most of the time except when they’re running testing. Not an excuse, just an explanation. |
True. The staff development teacher is a waste of money if ours is any indication (W middle). |
Nah, it’s easier to just blame the school even though a moral compass should have been instilled at home from a much earlier age! Don’t you know that it’s up to schools to raise children now, not parents? |
Look - I don't know her. So I don't have a dog in this fight. But . . . staff development teachers do NOT focus on the many REQUIRED school safety modules created by the county. They focus on school improvement. So before you post another ignorant comment, make sure to do your research first. |
This 100% How is it possible that a kid who was raised by parents who taught him good values from a young age would think that raping another kid with a broomstick is okay? There's a reason why some kids grow up to be respectful and successful people and others turn out to be assholes. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Stop blaming the schools for everything! |
agree Those kids weren't innocent in the least, but I also believe they may have been stripped of their innocence as well. Who knows what they saw or to what they were exposed? I talked to my 14 yo daughter about this, and she was appalled. The thought of going after another kid that was was horrifying to her. None of that would have EVER crossed her mind. poor parenting - neglect perhaps, or worse You don't know exactly what. But this behavior is CREATED in a person. It just doesn't suddenly manifest from out of nowhere. It's disturbing for everyone involved. And I wonder how many teachers will try to leave. |
He is a special needs student. His mental and emotional capacity is younger than your 15 year old. People with special needs are more likely to be victims of crimes than perpetrators. Clearly it's the 15 year old boys on the football team that you should be much more concerned about being around 15 year old girls. Perhaps there should be a separate program for them... |
Ask Pat O'Neill. Ask Damascus teachers. They all know. They all have the institutional knowledge you treasure. |
I don't treasure anything. I don't really care. I was just pointing out how idiotic your comment about pulling the court case was. |
