Reported hazing incident involving Damascus High School JV Football team

The police or MCPS broadened the investigation? And who is reporting this? How can they fire the security guard but not the coaches?!

Fox 5 reported it Wednesday night. There was a Damascus parent meeting at the school, but reporters were not allowed in or even to be on school property. I can’t find anything in print about the security guard, but that’s what was reported during the live broadcast.

Also on Fox News a few nights ago they reported that a security guard at Damascus has been fired stemming from this. I guess shit rolls downhill at Damascus.

Damascus HS football player sentenced to community service in alleged rape case, sources say

DAMASCUS, Md. - One of the five junior varsity football players charged in connection to an alleged locker room sexual assault at Damascus High School was sentenced to 100 hours of community service Wednesday after pleading guilty in juvenile court earlier this month to third-degree sexual offense, according to two sources with knowledge of the case.

The rest of them will face much harsher consequences.

That kind of sentence is why these crimes are charged as adults. Community service for aiding in a group anal rape? Lucky kid, I guess.

yeah

And you can be a day away from being charged as a adult, but that one day makes all the difference in the world - the difference between jail and community service for the SAME crime.

Community Service Lad, unless someone reigns him in, will head down the wrong path. He needs an alpha male in his life.

Then again this may mean the county has decided to placated the parents and nothing with change.

MCPS was given the green light by the police weeks ago when the police closed their investigation. I find it interesting that the principal isn't having a community forum to discuss not only the locker room incident but also the bathroom incident. The Damascus community as a whole needs answers for healing to begin. The Damascus community as a whole needs to know what the school administration and the athletic department are going to do to improve the climate to promote respect of all students.

The principal and MCPS are cowards by not being transparent and honest with parents. They are clueless as to what the next steps should be just like they were clueless on how to prevent the nightmare that has befallen our kids.

MCPS admins have zero desire to protest the kids from predators. They seek first to protect the perps.

This was not the only time MCPS preinvestigated prior to police involvement. Damascus is not the only school that has interviewed children without telling parents their child was interviewed and why.

When the agenda of central office becomes looking out for the welfare and safety of children, then perhaps MCPS employees will begin to live up to the professional expectations that they are mandated reporters. It would be helpful if the Washington Post names all the participants in the Damascus / MCPS Group Chat.

They named the AP, principal, JV coach, and varsity coach. Did they say there were more?

I don’t understand why the Principal still has her job. When she got the call about the allegations, she should have said “I’m hanging up now and calling the police.”

From the WaPo comment section:

Rememberme22
I’m the one that reported an incident of brooming to Crouse in 2017. She ‘investigated’ and closed the report within 4 hours. That was the ‘unsubstantiated’ report. It happened and she invalidated the boy that it happened to and through that inaction allowed the rapes to continue in 2018. Crouse is wholly responsible.

And Crouse, if you’re reading this- Remember me? I’ll bet you do. Several newspaper outlets as well as the MCPD have my statement regarding your absolutely absurd and inefficient handling of my report in 2017. Surely, you didn’t think I would just let you cover it up.. You have failed every boy that has been raped since November 2017. You have failed ‘your’ school and ‘your’ community.
