Children age 5 by September 1, 2018, and not age 21 on the first day of school are eligible for enrollment in MCPS. I don't have a problem with this. Why do you? -former 15-year-old girl and current parent of a 15-year-old girl |

FYI: individuals with developmental disabilities are entitled to receive an education through the end of the school year in which they turn 21. So yes, it is likely that your child’s high school has individuals who are chronologically adults in the school.
As you can see however , they are much more likely to be victims of criminal activity or abuse than to be perpetrators. |
Go pull the Circuit Court file. Ask Pat O'Neill about it. She has the "institutional knowledge" that everyone loves in Board of Education members. Covering up teacher and student affairs and the resulting children is a Pat O'Neill core value. |
I do have a problem with it. What is the benefit of keeping 20 year old men in classes with 15 year old girls? Wouldn’t it make more sense to have them in a program where they can be instructed at their level? |
| The BOE members are out on Twitter today congratulating Jeff Sullivan for earning his doctorate. He’s now dr Sullivan. |
Gross. Gross, gross, gross. Maybe someone can tweet back the link to the article about the young man with autism. |
Jeff Sullivan has a Ph.D. in ineffective leadership of the Montgomery County Public Schools athletic program. Great. The lack of a doctorate explains his previous stupidity and creating a program where sexual abuse and harassment flurishes.

There are laws and Supreme Court rulings that protect students with disabilities from discrimination in education. Provision of services in the least restrictive environment is one. If the home school can provide the level of service the student needs, then the student has a legal right to attend that school up to age 21. If you saw the interview with the family last night, you would have seen a person with the innocence of a child that was taken advantaged of in the most malicious way possible. All MCPS students should respect each other, including students who have disabilities. I ditto there is something horrendous about the culture of the JV Football team if this and the locker room incident is seen as an acceptable way to treat others. |
Congrats in the big como and pension raise for your online masters degree! Go government jobs! |
Seriously. What is wrong with a system that praises someone who allows this nonsense to flourish. |
They aren’t in the same classes. You know that. |
| Anyone who says that 15 and 20 year old HS kids cannot be in the same class does not have kids in High School. Freshman and seniors can be in the same class if it's an elective, like an art class, computer technology class, or PE class. They can also be in the same class for foreign language or math. |
Jeff Sullivan’s response: Replying to @dixon_jeanette @MCPSAthletics and @pbhs_sports Thank you @dixon_jeanette - I am forever grateful for your support! You have always and continue to inspire me to strive for the highest! #WeRAISE |
Uh, teach your children that these things are unacceptable, unethical and immoral? This isn't something that should only be taught at school--if it's not taught at home and reinforced at home then things like these happen. Parenting fails. |
How would you pull the file without knowing the parties’ names? |
