Are you actually connected to Damascus or just repeating what you're reading on message boards? |
I'm repeating what all Mcps HS students know. It is all over their media. First one was found out in September. If you have HS kids in mcps, ask them, they all know. |
Not the PP, but it’s the toxic culture in MCPS. Ask anyone who works with these cases at the MCPD. They will tell you quickly how there is something fundamentally wrong with the culture at MCPS that allows these types of incidents to occur over and over. There is very little focus on protecting students. Almost every other week, there is a case that ends up at the PD - bus drivers, staff, teachers, coaches, security people, other students. Insane. And, clearly there is a systemic problem. |

3 charged with rape.
https://wtop.com/montgomery-county/2018/11/3-montgomery-co-high-school-students-charged-with-rape-after-locker-room-hazing/ If the county or the school has and you know whats, they would cancel the varsity season as well because this program in particular is all about the right of passage. |
| and 4 victims. |
Is that the teacher/student one or something else? |
Link please |
| Charged as juveniles ... must be white |
DP. Do you actually have any evidence that this has happened beyond the football team? Or any specific reason to think it will? Either way, do you really think MCPS should truly let people writ large transfer as a result of this? (If a specific victim wanted to transfer that might be different.) |
Kudos to the victims for coming forward. So glad they did. And kudos to MCPD for acting quickly. |
Read the article. You think 3 guys raped 4 people in 1 incident. No. One got raped on 10/31 and was brave and came forward. The other 3 will be past events, students that came forward as part of the investigation. There are more, msybe they will come forward. |
The WaPo article I saw suggested that, yes, three kids raped 4 victims on the 31st. That doesn't mean there were or were not earlier, unrelated incidents. |
| I am sure in Damascus they are more concerned about winning -a very weak schedule BTW than taking the steps to stop this and you know very well, all the players, jv and varsity knew about it as well as the coaches. |
| I hope they pay attention to the Damascus Wrestling coaches and athletes too. I do not know of any hazing, but I was appalled at the unsportsmanlike conduct of their coach last year. |
| I hear this par for the course at Damascus. Finally someone spoke up. |
