| Yeah come out to the public school you pay for and watch the defending champs. Free parking! We got a hater section for all of you. They are nosebleeds but hey. Thank you for all you do! |
Not much. One regular season title (if that even counts) and zero IAC championship games. I guess they get an A for effort, like my 6 year old... |
This is really well done...LOL... |
Hey the kids of those champions should be coming up the ranks soon. It’s some hope for the program. |
| Giblin was the best coach ever. It ain't ever coming back. |
We'll be treated to some anti-Giblin posters I'm sure generally foaming at the mouth, but who have no idea about him. I played for Giblin in the 1990'a. He built the GP lax program a player at time and a year at time. These are different times. There's more parity than there was and a much bigger pool of players. Giblin didn't have that luxury and he faced a "rival" that had a 5 or 10 years head start and a captive group of Middle-schools he could develop. I was Landon and then it was Landon and Prep. Now it appears there is much more competitive balance. |
|
Wrong. It was Episcopal and Landon. Then Landon and STA. Then Landon and Prep. Then long overdue parity.
Giblin got results but was a meathead with a drinking problem who doomed himself with his antics. Prep is better off without him regardless of its record. That guy was an embarrassment. |
Agree with PP that Bullis is not a dominant team...a hair's breadth from losing in last year's finals and again yesterday giving up 10 goals to a very young Landon team and narrowly escaping in OT. The model of recruiting in elite players for a year or two is hard to sustain, but give Coach B credit for milking his AA players the last two years to keep the lights on, notwithstanding discord in the school community. It's funny how much better coach is when you have All Americans playing for you. Prep was very good this year, but likewise not dominant. They looked asleep for the first half vs SSSA, had a nice run in 2H to take the lead but then ran into a face-off buzz saw and never had the ball. The IAC race this year was more or less a coin flip among the top teams... |
|
2019 IAC records: Prep 5-1 Bullis 5-1 SSSA 4-3 Landon 4-3 St Albans 1-5 Episcopal 0-6 ...from what i have seen and heard Landon and Prep bring back fairly loaded soph and junior classes; Bullis had several sophs start on D this year, O was senior dominant; SSSA was senior dominant; not sure about the rest... |

First of all, Healy and Bordley are NOT co-coaches. Healy is the head coach, and deserves a lot of credit. This was one of the least talented Landon teams they've had in awhile, and they had a very good season overall.
Bullis does not recruit any harder than Landon, Prep or SSSA does. They do have more mid-HS transfers than others, so I guess you can criticize them for that. Both most of the top kids who transfer to Bullis came because they were interested first, not that Bullis found them under a rock. Talking to coaches and officials, they all universally agreed this was a down year for the IAC and lacrosse in general in this year. There are no dominant teams, and the talent level overall is down. Who will take it next year? Who knows? Hoping for a good IAC championship match on Fri. |
You mean like Landon in 2017 when they had three Under All-Americans plus one more (Epstein) that would be named in 2018? |
Bullis, Landon and Prep all have deep Sophomore classes that got a lot of experience/starts this year. Could explain down year with so many schools plying so many young kids. They’ll all get better. What school, has top current junior class? |
| A down year is a loser mentality. If you're a winner all you think about is a championship. Any winner on here knows exactly what I mean. But if you're a loser, you console yourself with that attitude. |
What a d*ck. |
