Add me to the list for the jewelry and 24/7 nannies. |
| Will there be a Vigil of the Princes like there was for the funeral of the Queen Mother? |
I think you are right- there are probably very few “suitable” women (from the right families with the right temperament) who would be interested.Well-born women with money and beauty want to live a lively luxe life, not one of drudge and duty under the sharp gaze of begrudging tax-payers. Wasn’t that why Harry and his girlfriend Chelsy broke up? I will be interested to see if Kate starts becoming a bit more adventurous with fashion, now that the Queen is not here to disapprove of colored nail polish and wedge shoes. |
The Queen was Sophie’s MIL. You all have the generations mixed up. The Queen was Kate’s grandmother-in-law and her children’s GREAT grandmother. |
LOL his "only claim to fame." LOL you are delusional. |
Sophie called the Queen Mama and was like a second daughter to her. They were extremely close. Since the death of Philip she spent the most time with Sophie out of anyone in the family. |
Plenty of middle class and lower (Kate was "Middle Class" by English standards) want him. The Aristochicks do not, and did not 15+ years ago. He dumped Kate and tried his luck and it failed. He famously tried for Isabella Calthorpe, but she went and married Richard Branson's son. For the women in thee spheres, marryng into royalty is not necessarily an upgrade. If you could choose to marry a billionaire and live your life footloose and fancy free or have to adhere to these norms and be a publicly dissected and ridiculed global presence, which would you choose? I'd choose the former. Add into that the drama of the obviously headed to failure Diana and Charles media circus that these women witnessed when young? Yeah, I'll take the low key billionnare without generations of family dysfunction. The boys were almost always going to have to marry commoners. Will got the "shit or get off the pot" after a decade periodically looking for others and coming up empty, and that's fine. I will never insult Kate's intelligence by assuming any infidelity is some kind of betrayal. I think she knew what she was in for and she is ride or die loyal to her family and to the Firm. |
You have a lot on your mind. |
DP. Ever read any 19th century literature? Interest in monarchs and the royalty-adjacent is hardly new. |
About as well as can be ordered, I guess. |
I have no idea if he is still cheating or not. Maybe they just aren't all touchy feely after 3 kids. I merely pointed out that William did touch her. You're right that they can't win. |

From a strictly fashion perspective, I think Meghan did a great job with her choice of dress and shoes. The midi length with a-line movement paired with a substantial suede pump was figure-flattering. I think Kate’s choice was a rare misstep- her choice of skinny sheath and skimpy heels had a weird 90s administrative assistant vibe. |
| Are you people stupid? My priority, like Kate's, would be on my children. |
If there really is a rift then Wm or Kate are the ones that asked about skin color. |
I actually think its the opposite (I am huge fan of Meghan's wardrobe in Manchester) however I find it admirable that she managed to come out polished and beautiful with 48-hours notice while visiting another continent. I know her assistants were rushing to shops trying to find good looks for a petite woman on very short notice knowing the world would be watching her. Good for them. |
