BBC presenters have changed to all black as well.

There's a long planned choreography to this that been sitting on a shelf for decades.

Very strong chance that she is already dead. They will probably wait +X hours post-death before officially announcing. All of this is scripted down to the minute.

She fulfilled her promise and kept a word of dedicating her life to service. You have to admire a woman like that.

+1 truly!!

She's 96. These things happen.

Did she spend the summer at Balmoral and that's why she's in Scotland?

TBH, I am a little surprised she didn't make it to 100. She seems like the ideal candidate to make it that long - mother lived past 100, access to best doctors and treatments, etc.

Yes, she was too weak to return.

Yes, she spends every summer there.

I think she would usually travel back to London around this time.

Though, it would be fitting if she died at Balmoral. Supposedly that's where she felt most comfortable, relaxed, and happy. She preferred the rural country of Balmoral to the bustling of London/Windsor Castle.

I do think it's imminent by the way the British press is acting.

I find myself feeling sad about how her life was never was her own. And strange that for the rest of my life, it will be men (blerg) which feels weird.

William should take over by his 50s. He's my age.

OMG I am so sad. I was hoping that she was calling the family together because she knew she was fading and wanted to try one last time to get everyone to get along. I was hoping she would have seen her grandsons reunite before her death. I think this will hit Harry really really hard with regret. He wasted time with these fights when he could have spent more time with his grandmother.

Go read about Operation London Bridge

If BBC had cancelled regular programming and gone to black, it’s imminent or already done. What an amazing life. The world will not be the same without her.

The Queen dies, Bernard Shaw dies, who will be the 3rd?

Very odd timing that Harry was in the country too.

It is possible she wanted it that way.

Agreed. She is the age of my own grandmother, who passed many years ago. It really does feel like the end of an era. I too was hoping she had a few years left, but hers has been a life well-lived.
