Wuhan virus (coronavirus) arrives in the USA

My concern is kids. Specifically, kids sharing school bathrooms. We don't know for sure how this thing spread but
if there is no serious decontamination between uses that could be potential for contact if that
thing communicates not only by droplets via air but also via contact with surfaces?
Do we know more by now?

So this says:

Hong Kong leader Carrie Lam said Saturday her government is raising its response level to the highest level – emergency – and closing schools for two weeks, as authorities rush to contain the deadly coronavirus outbreak.

Wonder why two weeks, what is their strategy? Is it related to incubation period?

Aside from dangers, that would be fashion suicide in the DMV area.

They need to start making them in gray polyester.

They mean at least two weeks.

Schools are closed anyhow right now for the New Year holiday. This is like saying there will be a two hour delay... and they will reevaluate later to see if they will extend it longer.

That video is worrisome. It’s like an apocalypse movie came to life. Especially the bridge scene with the cars.

All those ppl in the hospital! Are they all sick? Why are they all in the hallways like that? That increases their chance of getting the virus if they didn’t already have it.

I didn’t see the video but lots of social media shows long lines and cram hallways. It’s a catch 22. Go get help and you are not with the virus but roll the dice you catch it there.

We just bought N95 masks, not painter’s coveralls or a dental mask Our thinking is that IF it arrives in our community/zip code, there would likely be at least a few days when we would have to go out. We live in a tiny apartment and can’t store two weeks of food, meds, etc. Even if we got an Rx delivered rather than going to CVS, it might be better to retrieve it from the driver with a mask.

The other thing is that I woke up with a cold and if I wear a mask, it might make others feel better.

My concern is full planes from China are arriving every day.

Mongolia is smart enough to cut off travel.

That’s right. If you were there won’t you just get out of town? I would book that two week trip to visit the US ASAP. I hope the airlines and airports have plains to protect the ppl who work at airports like lax, ord, etc.

Only a centralize gov can do what they did to quarantine and shutdown flights. Would be uproar in any other.

And some are taking extreme measures like hiding symptoms to get into other countries. https://www.theguardian.com/science/2020/jan/23/chinese-tourist-says-she-evaded-coronavirus-checks-fly-france
