What you need is NBC or CBRG gas masks if it really comes down to that point. (Most sold out already on Amazon). During the meantime, wash your hands and disinfect all surfaces are the best things you can do right now.

Typo. CBRN

Don’t spread misinformation. N95 masks absolutely will help. You just need to wear them properly.

Please do yourself a favor and research on the subject instead of an article from the Washingtonpost and I say that for your true protection. N95 helps ONLY if a patient sneeze or cough directly at you, that plus you need to wear gloves and eye protectors at a minimum. NBC mask / hazmat suit is what you REALLY need.

Are PPs really buying hazmat suits? Y’all are scaring the F out of me.

Since we are quoting news sources

https://www.businessinsider.com/wuhan-coronavirus-face-masks-not-entirely-effective-2020-1

"N95 respirators filter out most airborne particles from the surrounding air, preventing wearers from breathing in particles down to 0.3 microns in diameter. These types of masks are often used when air quality is poor due to wildfire smoke or pollution, and they're designed to be tightly fitted. However, the coronavirus is 0.12 microns in diameter."

Watch this video. The Chinese are not being honest (no big surprise there). https://www.liveleak.com/view?t=aNLJk_1580091920

Also, current thinking is that if it is on your hand and you wipe your eye, it's in your system. But a mask can help.

It has to help something, otherwise why would all those health workers in China were wearing them
along with just some eye protection. If they were useless then they would not wear them right?
Anonymous
Something like this dental protective disposable shields could provide additional protection of the eyes and nose from air droplets to get into them
if someone sneezes right? Also, probably additional motivator not to touch the face with hands.

At a minimum

Notice the dental protective disposable shields mentioned by PP, suit, gloves plus mask.

Neh, people are just buying those are just paper thin painter's coveralls with zipper from Home Depot
that you can always use later to paint or give away to your friendly painter. No idea where and why
would they use it but that I saw people buying.

At the end of the day.. I think if we had to dress like that to get out of the house, probably nobody leaves the house.
Aside from dangers, that would be fashion suicide in the DMV area.

I agree that although the math stacks against the logic here but still the simple rule of life "better something then
nothing applies. I would hope that the paper mask at least would dry the droplets to a degree so they might
stop on the surface and think about it for a moment and while they do, maybe they will just dry and decide
not to penetrate the mask and that ends their trip right there?
