The bad part is that he changed planes somewhere in the US and took public transportation to get to his house from SEATAC. So it really depends on when the virus is contagious.

The good news is that we have a President who will slam doors, unlike with Obama/Ebola.

The Ebola panic was the zeitgeist. It wasn't rational or warranted, as we see in hindsight m. Obama handled it properly.

Allowing it into your country deliberately is not handling it properly.

No, in World War Z I believe the immune compromised were immune to the zombie virus.

I think Contagion is more relevant here, where Gywneth Paltrow brings back the virus from Hong Kong.

Contagion was horrifying

I read somewhere that it was closer to 1000.

Still just seeing 300 confirmed.

Since when are the Communists truthful? Never.

This is the BBC article that estimates 1700 cases....

Thank you.

Yep, and in Contagion, Kate Winslet (the contagious disease doctor) gets sick herself, just like a dr has gotten Wuhan in China.

In Contagion, a bat bites into a fruit that falls off the tree and is eaten by a pig that is then slaughtered to be served at the restaurant in Hong Kong. The pig is being prepared by the chef who shakes hands with Paltrow, she flies back to the US and boom, it's everywhere.

Actually, the fact that it had a delayed presentation is horrifying. That’s how it’s spreading and how it will continue to spread to the US. During the incubation period, people travel, not knowing that they are infected, and then they spread the virus in new areas.

Not good at all.

But being much more neurotic as a result is an effect on you, no?

Yes it is.

I think they need to slam the doors. China is off limits until this is figured out. Quarantine any US citizen coming home.

I realize that isn't exactly reasonable. Where would they be quarantined and for how long?

This is why you're not in charge.

If they imposed a 2 week long quarantine upon return, people would definitely change their travel plans...which is what we want.

If you’re traveling for pleasure. You need to wait

If your mother is gravely ill, of course, you shouldn’t you go, but you wouldn’t mind the quarantine under those circumstances

Station Eleven

Yup, Station Eleven. Terrifying.

They’re taking temps at airports in LA, NY and San Fran but they should do it everywhere.

Chinese New Year starts this weekend. The timing is terrible.

Except for the fact that it can be contained in the new locations, so long as they aren't living in crowded conditions, mixing constantly with animals, in countries where politically they have a vested interest in lying.

This guy is in isolation. If 100s of people now get sick from him, your thought process will be correct. But I don't anticipate that.

No one seemed to care though, when D68 was killing and paralyzing American kids in 2014.

China might kill itself given the mass travel for the Chinese New Year within China.
