Georgetown SFS is currently educating Princess Iman of Jordan after previously graduating her brother, Crown Prince Hussein. I have zero issue with letting rich people like that in through no admissions process at all, even though SFS is fiercely competitive. These are people who are or will be in hereditary positions of massive influence--the Jordanian throne has a tremendous amount of power over the lives of millions of people and is a key regional ally of the US and a serious player in the war on terror. Hussein is going to be in control of an army and has already chaired UN Security Council meetings even though he's only 24. It is in the global and national interest for someone like that to receive the best education possible and try to force knowledge into their heads even if they are incredible morons--Hussein can go where he likes, and if he takes some other kid's slot, well, too bad. The Middle East tinderbox may thank you later for your sacrifice.
Felicity Huffman's kids? Bleh. Not rich enough to buy their way in the "honorable" way with a building donation or scholarship fund that could at least benefit others, and not important enough to be let in based on influence. Just cheating poseurs. This story is both infuriating and hilarious. |
The #1 lie is that there is a white supremacy ![]() What we have seen here is that mostly (but not all) white parents are simply trying to buy their kiddos into better colleges than they otherwise would have gotten into and did so not because they thought they were special because they were white but because they were stupid parents with stupid kids. Unless you can convincingly show that these parents were cackling and boasting about riding roughshod over downtrodden African Americans, there was no "white supremacy" going on here. The spots their kids took didn't come from minority candidates because all the colleges have their fixed percentage goals for minorities/international students. The spots were taken away from unconnected middle class white kids. |
Not quite a mugshot but they're all looking frazzled. Imagine that celebrities look like normal humans when they don't have 5 days and 10 assistants to prep them for a red carpet. Felicity Huffman ![]() Mossimo Giannulli ![]() |
My daughter is at USC (full tuition scholarship). Coincidentally, she lives down the hall from Loughlin’s daughter.
I am concerned VERY concerned about the value of her USC degree doing down. This makes the school look like it’s pay to play and the only thing that matters is money. |
Sigh, You just don’t get it. Ignorance. Rationales. It just fuels hate and jealousy. Pell grants are for the poor. Many need blind schools are for the poor. No one is denying poor kids who thrive an education. |
EXACTLY. Kahn is studying. Personal test prep are the secrets, the curveballs, etc... It is not learning. It is promising exults because they study pattens in previous tests, teach kids how to figure out standardized test questions, how to skim the passages, and so forth. It is a temporary ability to get a temporary smart looking score. And now that many colleges subscore, kids can take it 4 times and only focus on one section. They can get three 10’s and a 35 each time on a separate session and get a super score of 35. Most people can’t afford taking it once, let alone 4 times. |
Tip of the iceberg baby! Bring it on. Where is my popcorn?

*evil laugh* Sources familiar with the case tell TMZ, FBI agents have seized numerous cell phones and other evidence they believe will lead them to other parents, college employees and others who might have participated in admissions bribery. We know a number of wealthy parents from some of the most exclusive private schools in L.A. were calling around Tuesday, asking if Rick Singer, the ringleader who just copped a plea, kept lists of clients. As one source put it, "These parents are sweating bullets." |
Sure does. |
Rich entitled white people seem to be having a nervous breakdown. B-b-b-but affirmative action. B-b-but “great schools”. B-b-but NNAT prep.... |
Well, perhaps you should think long and hard about what you may not be getting instead of blaming everything on other people. I see these posts accusing others of not "getting" it and calling them ignorant and whatever. But your own attitude is just as culpable in furling the hate and jealousy you claim exist and it's pretty clear you prefer to approach the world solely through a very narrow prism of how things ought to be rather what they really are. |
Dunno. I bet virtually all these parents would call themselves strong supporters of affirmative action (given that they're mostly Hollywood/New York liberals). All the spots their dumb kids took from others were taken from white candidates, not black candidates, so affirmative action is not at play here, one way or another. But I think *some* angry minority people are having a nervous breakdown because this only exposes even more how college admissions is not a meritocratic process and the more clear it becomes that the expensive colleges are virtually selling seats to the higher bidder one way or another, and actually in its own way, weakens the validity of affirmative action itself because it presents it as just another form of corruption that passes for admissions. At the end of the day these schools are going to have to stop any pretense, whatsoever, that they care about meritocracy, which would be a direct contradiction to their long held missions and education values. It doesn't matter whether you're the stupid white offspring of rich and connected parents, or an AA with well below average scores and grades, you're both gaming the system in your own way, and ultimately overall weaken the integrity of the "premier" higher education in this country. There's no question that the value and prestige of degrees from fancy schools have declined as a result. |
I guess I should disown my kid who only got a 1300. |
Has anyone commented on Olivia jades statement in her video that she’s contributing to travel all over the world and is going to talk to the dean and that she isn’t really into school?!? I’d love to see a recording of that conversation with the dean!!! What a dumbass |
