Where can I sign the petition for Elaine's BFF Descano?

Looks like they bought space on this forum to advertise the Descano recall petition:

Elaine - I am a mother of three FCPS students and I voted for you in the last election. Yesterday I voted for Youngkin because education is the most important issue to me. Your failure and that of the Board and Superintendent over the last year and a half is what drove me to vote for a Republican, and it will prevent me from voting for you in the next election. I will likely vote for a Democrat in 2023, but it will not be you, even if you are the only Democrat on the ticket.

Should definitely ask Jason Miyares as the new state AG to look at the conflicts-of-interest that led to the Descano-picked Commonwealth Attorney's refusing to prosecute the recall petition against Elaine Tholen (despite the judge having previously said it could go forward).

Whoa - Im not willing to go that far. I too voted for Elaine, but I voted for McAuliffe on Tuesday and will not vote for a Republican for the FCPS School Board - but I also won't ever vote for Elaine again either. Hopefully some other Democrat will challenge her.

I wish Rory Cooper would announce he's going to challenge her, but he may actually need to make a living.

That’s a great point! The petitions against Laura Jane and Abrar haven’t gone to court yet have they? Maybe a more favorable administration can take a look at them …

Don’t like the current SB but I would vote for Big Bird before voting for him. He’s a s1)t stirrer.

He is a “political and corporate reputation strategist.” Wow.

He's also an FCPS parent with a college degree unlike, say, Karl Frisch. Who knows, he might even prioritize kids over a dog park.

Good luck to you, doing the same thing over and over yet expecting a different result. We all know what that's called.

Insanity or self-inflicted wound, your pick.

I cannot imagine being so wedded to a local political party that I wouldn’t at least wait to see what a candidate endorsed by a particular party had to say before deciding whether to support them. And, while I often vote for candidates endorsed by Democrats, the single biggest problem with the current School Board is the lack of different perspectives when you have a board that functions mostly as an echo chamber because they are all from the same party. Sure, they squabble with each other occasionally, but it’s all over small stuff, not the larger policy issues they ought to be considering.

Well said!

Why do SB have to be affiliated with a political party? Can’t they just run on their own platform? It doesn’t seem like a good idea at all.

They could, but who will win without being on a sample ballot?
