Stop trying to pretend you have a choice. If Trump becomes the Republican candidate there is no debate.

Again. That’s in a year. Spend this year making Biden a great candidate.

He already is.

90% of that list is pork. The rest is fluff.

Eyeroll. Nothing is ever enough.

Biden saved the economy from cratering post-Covid and reengaged with the world after four years of a crazy-wanna-be-autocrat.

it's not pork or fluff, it's governing. You probably aren't familiar with that. Hint: It doesn't involve inciting riots or calling Nazis "good people."

I really disappointed in so many of you who probably consider yourselves smart and savvy people. Instead of evaluating Biden’s stable leadership, you’re blindly regurgitating conservative talking points.

Or on the other hand threatening not to vote at all for Biden, likely guaranteeing a Trump win. And you know who won’t be good for Palestinians (and lots of others)? Trump. But ok, take your toys and go home. Burn down your own country to punish a presidency who recognized how devastating 10/7 was and had the decency to show support to the Israeli people - and Jews around the world - who realized that Hamas is intent on exterminating Jews and this was an act of war.

I don't support Trump and don't want him as President and won't vote for him.

That said, he started a reckoning in America. If America votes for him as President, let the reckoning come. It won't be my vote that brings it.

Or America can do better. Tired of this lesser of the two evils BS.

DP. Saved the economy? Have you heard of inflation? Or our very meh labor force participation rate?

You’re full of it.

Economy will be roaring. Middle East will be forgotten. And the Republicans will still be pushing a national abortion ban.

Totally agree. Democratic landslide.

I hope you're right about a roaring economy and leave in the middle east. It seems unlikely, though, because we are sending money to both Palestine and Israel. Normally, if you fund both sides, it prolongs a war.

If people think voting for the GOP - likely Trump or not voting at all and by default enabling Trump to win - we won’t be going to get peace. Not in the Middle East, not in the United States, not anywhere. It we will be in a full-on fascistic state where people will be barred from basic civil rights because they are Muslim or gay or a woman (not that these aren’t in jeopardy already).

All these people who hate Israel, who deny it the right to protect itself from offensives from neighbors and terrorists, and want to “show Biden” for having the basic morality to support Israelis in the wake of the heinous attack of October 7 when so many were completely SILENT.

You’re biting your nose to spite your face.

I don't hate Israel. Don't deny it the right of self defense. Their bombing of Gaza is not self defense and doesn't get rid of Hamas, or the idea of Hamas. Just creates a new generation who will want to join the next version of Hamas. Their tactics have been brutal and have resulted in the loss of thousands of innocent civilians. You can't convince me that they couldn't have engaged different tactics to get rid of Hamas with less loss of civilians.

I understand Biden supports Israel. However, he has been callous in regards to the lives of Palestinians lost.

His comment that he was a Zionist, when that is such a loaded word to so many people.

His complete disregard of the number of Palestinians killed, when those numbers have been found reliable in previous conflicts thus far.

His complete disregard of the Palestinians prior to October 7. As if there was no problem, no issues going on in the West Bank, no settler violence, etc. Biden could have done/said things differently that wouldn't have alienated the Arab-American/Muslim voting block.

I have never voted for a Republican in 20 years and I don't plan to start. I think they don't know how to run government, have no plans on how to improve the lives of Americans, and a lot of them are beholden to racists and Islamophobes. And they will make my life in America more difficult if they are in power, no doubt. But I'm tired. I will vote my conscience. It's about time I do.

What would you recommend re: eliminating Hamas? This is a terrorist organization that deliberately hides itself in schools, mosques, hospitals, and other areas that maximize civilian peril. What should Israel have done differently? Curious what your thoughts are.

Pushing millions of civilians out of their homes into a giant refugee camps seems like a good way to breed terrorism, but I guess root causes don’t matter

This doesn’t read to me as “great”. I don’t think he’s been a disastrous president but “not a disaster” doesn’t get my vote when there’s a serious moral issue— the death of 3000 Palestinian children and the extraordinary callousness with which American Citizens in Gaza have been treated— on his hands.

Then who are you voting for? Or are you just so mad that Biden supported Israel after 10/7 that you’ll be ok enabling a Trump win.

I’ll be deciding closer to the election, when a number of factors are made clear.

1. Will Biden course
-correct on Middle East (there’s suggestions and hints but nothing concrete. Someone in another thread suggested sending the Comfort/Mercy think that would be a great start)
2. Will Trump even be on the ballot. Scare-mongering more than a year before the election about a man who may be in prison is not compelling to me.
3. Will Biden admit where he has broken his first-term promises (remember universal childcare, equal pay, and paid family leave?!?) and lay out a path to do better?

Also, “support for Israel” doesn’t make me “mad” as you put it. Callous disregard for the lives of U.S. Citizens and non-combatant children? That makes me mad.

Do you really think the only way the United States can support Israel is to arm Israel? Or is our alliance more than that?

Ok, I don't have all the answers. But I think they should have created multiple safe zones in Gaza with adequate food, water, shelter, electricity/fuel, sanitation. True safe zones that aren't bombed. And facilitated electricity/fuel to these safe zones as well as hospitals. Facilitate the delivery of medical supplies and fresh medical workers to hospitals in an adequate number. Hamas would have taken advantage, sure. But there would have been a lot less innocent casualties.

Negotiate for the hostages.

Admit their mistakes in the West Bank. Reign in settler violence. Concrete steps towards a two state solution. You can say it's not the time, they're fighting a war, etc. But it's actually the perfect time. You have to give people hope that there can be something better.

Every single election cycle since Dems fearmonger voters about the GOP/Trump boogeyman. This election cycle it's not enough to say the GOP is evil (we already know that) or that Trump would be worse (we already know that). And claiming to save democracy while advocating for undemocratic principles such as not voting third party (Nancy, you old fascist!) or voting for the lesser evil just won't cut it this election cycle. Voters want real candidates with real positions and ideas...not some old man asking for votes because "Trump bad" or "GOP evil".

Why "they"? Are you talking about Israel government going to Gaza that was controlled by Hamas and to create these safety zones with food, water, etc? And Hamas would just sit back and allow them to do it? What is a true safe zones? Name the location and place that would not be touched by Hamas? You are either delusional or need to adjust your medication.

How long would you continue negotiating if they began raping elderly and minors and began beheading them?

With the uprise of Hamas in US, where would you propose we create a true safe zones?

We’ve had years of those predictions now despite actual growth. Remember Bloomberg predicting a 100% chance of a recession that didn’t happen?

Dems are not reading the room at all. There is general discontent in the voter base that's being ignored because Dems take some voters for granted. There are a lot of disgruntled voters this cycle and no amount of Biden "wins" will address the underlying economic issues facing voters - they can't pay their bills and buy food.

What exactly is Biden supposed to do other than what he and his administration are doing right now?

And just let me point up the massive hypocrisy of the right, which wants the US completely out of the Ukraine war but now wants us to do -- what? boots on the ground? -- in Israel/Gaza. Which is it? America First or Team America World Police?
