This Is Us final season

I started a few minutes late so I haven't finished, but the big reveal of why Rebecca didn't make Randall in charge of her medical decisions was something I already knew. Not like spoilered I knew but it was what I (and probably many others) had guessed.

But, hoo boy, that Randall and Malik moment. That honestly has me in tears. And Deja, "You're my dad." Oh man.

Yes, that was great. I really appreciated the focus on low-key, thoughtful, loving, politically adept Randall vs. the OTT oxygen-sucking Randall we often see.

I'm thin and I struggled with the hills in SF. They are not easy if you're not used to them.

This episode was better than Kate’s. But in regards to all three episodes, did we really learn anything about each of them that we already didn’t know? Randall thinks he’s the savior for the family and now taking it to politics.

Agreed--I feel like nothing was revealed. Other than maybe moving the Toby/Kate divorce story forward and wrapping up the Deja/Malik relationship (for now).

Randall is way too thin-skinned to ever be POTUS. Senator maybe but POTUS....no way.

The whole 'doors can reopen' thing. I said upthread I think Deja and Malik could reconnect when they are both more grown and established. This could be another message re: Sophie as well.

Agree, also enjoyed the more measured performance in this episode. I enjoyed it much more than the first two parts of the big three trilogy.

Not with the way he looked at Madison at the very end of this episode (that's also a door that can reopen.)

I just don't see it, never a hint of anything more than friendship, but we'll see how things develop over the coming eps.

I’m tired of all the repeat footage. The pool scenes and Rebecca’s speech to Big 3 over and over.

Hopefully we'll never have to hear about the GD goggles ever again!

I liked the episode, but President Pearson seems a bit over the top. How does Randall, a city council member, have that kind of confidence?

Loved Cat Stevens at the end. I grew up in the '70s and from the first guitar chords I knew what song it was and how well it fit. All along, the music on this show has really complemented the writing, which has been uneven. But when both the writing and the music are great, I remember why I've stuck with the show for six years.

He's being personally courted by the retiring Senator from PA (they are still in Philly, right?) to run for the Senate. I'm more surprised he has that confidence because that's not really a trait I really associate with Randall, who went temporarily blind from his anxiety once.

But maybe he's become more self-aware of his own abilities and strengths? He was in therapy at one point - maybe that helped?

I thought it was fascinating that he quietly told Rebecca that - that she was the only one he felt he could share that with.

What happened the other younger
set of Kate, Randal, and Kevin? I don't think we have seen them all season.

I reacted differently. I thought Randall was acting like Toby. It seemed that he agreed to meet with the senator without talking to Beth and the girls first.

+1. In the teaser future scene where Kate is getting ready with the other women in the bridal party before marrying the British guy, Madison shoos him away and it doesn’t seem like there is much else there.
