I didn't realize it was a typo. I thought it meant she is a really good cook. |
| You should try to remember that you won't be friends with these people forever. Marry who you like and move on with your own lives. |
|
Here's my take on the situation. OP and his so-called 'friends' are immigrants and not the walking-across-the-border type but rather the H-1B type.
These people are the worst brown nosing strivers one can imagine. Ugh. OP, you're not from arouns here originally, are you? You sound pretty pathetic and insecure yourself and are projecting your insecurity on your poor date. |
OP here. We are all white and born here. I grew up in the Midwest. Most of my friends are from the area. I’m not insecure but thanks for your observation. |
I’m so curious why you thought they were Indian? I am and I didn’t think that at all. |
WTF is this supposed to mean? You sound more and more like an a-hole with each post! |
You literally created this post less thant 24 hrs before this reply, what are you talking about being away for a couple of days? |
|
If these women are genuine friends, they will not be judging your new girlfriend based on her education + income.
Why would you want to socialize w/such judgmental people anyway?? |
| Honestly, if I was your gf and you introduced me to these friends of yours, I'd second guess you. |
Let me guess - are you a Democrat? |
Let me guess you're a racist, oh wait, I don't actually have to guess that's obvious. |
OP is a racist with shallow and snobby friends, if if doesn't run she's an idiot. |
|
This is so odd to me, I truly don’t understand it. I would never be snobby or rude towards someone entering my social circle. Especially if they were a kind and friendly person.
Ultimately it is up to your girlfriend to decide if she wants to put up with this nonsense if she does end up encountering it. I am questioning how all of your friends ended up marrying such judgmental people...birds of a feather, perhaps? |
OP here. It was a typo. I meant to say she grew up as one of the only white people in a predominantly Hispanic/black area for half of her life. She was bullied by many people for being white, mostly by one guy in particular who used to make fun of her everyday and said many times he was going to sexually assault her. She said she had a rough childhood because she grew up poor and was constantly bullied at school because of her clothes. She didn’t have many friends when she was a kid because most of them refused to hang out with her because she was white. She started talking self defense classes as a teen because of it. She wanted to be able to defend herself. I’m saying she has been through some rough stuff and didn’t grow up in a sugar coated world. She knows how to protect herself and stand up for herself. She can hold her own. |
OP here. I meant a couple of hours, but I couldn’t really remember when I posted it. I’ve been busy. |
