| On another note, this plot and the multiple red herrings makes me think of Broadchurch - like they put Broadchurch in rural Pennsylvania. |
Thinking priest is the baby’s father or thinks he might be. Maybe she went there to demand help with the baby’s ear procedure. I don’t think he’s the killer—too early! |

Omg. Hilarious.

So many people in the Twitter comments have no idea that it’s a riff on Mare of Easttown. They think it’s just a random sketch and don’t get it. The pretzel vape is hilarious. |

Best sketch ever. This might revive SNL |
|
This show is a mashup of the Long Island murders (sex workers) and the Cleveland kidnapping where he held the girls for years.
I think Deacon is the father but not the killer. Going to now guess one of the cousins. Killed Erin because they were related—couldn’t keep her locked up for sex but also couldn’t let her go. Felt murder was best option. Probably Mare’s friend’s husband. |
This is my current guess as well. He was out “drinking with Frank” who has no idea what time he got home, out until 2:30. |
I think it could be the other priest, Mare’s cousin. Maybe he thinks he’s saving them. He accepted the Deacon coming because it would be a good cover and fall guy. |
| Maybe the writer boyfriend? He currently has no function. |

Any theories as to why Mare hid the question about/search for journals from baby detective? Could she suspect him or does she just want to hog the case?
The flashback with her son was heartbreaking. |
She wants to read the journals and solve the case. She is "off" the case so needs to be sly, so she's being sly. Who do you think got to the journals first, because they weren't there? |
Think he is there to show a softer side. Also I think he might be Carrie’s dad. |
They went together to question the friend. Why sly on some things and not others is my question. If it’s just a matter of solving the case she should involve baby detective in finding the journals as well. |
she is competitive, she wants the "win". obvious. |
I was wondering this too!! At first, I assumed she wanted to hog the case, but there is likely more to it. I think we should consider the assistant detective as a suspect too. Why not! |
