They went together to question the friend. Why sly on some things and not others is my question. If it’s just a matter of solving the case she should involve baby detective in finding the journals as well.

she is competitive, she wants the "win". obvious.

I don’t think it’s quite that simple, or obvious. She was looking at him like she was seeing him for the first time during a conversation earlier in the episode, and I think that she has reasons to hide things from him now, beyond wanting to be the only one winning.

Good Murdur Durdur episode! Lots of shocking stuff, some satisfying stuff. With all the red herrings over the course of the series I’m not even going to attempt to guess at who the final bad guy(s) are.
