When I married, I kept my maiden name which is my dad’s last name. None of my brothers had kids. My girls have my dad’s last name hyphenated. |
Really? Jesus they could have fertility issues. |
| There's a thing called fertility problems. Some people have it and can't get pregnant again. Or - shockingly - people are allowed to only have one child! Mind your own business. And get a hobby. |
How kind of you to read about the difficulties my DH and I have been through and then take the opportunity to call me an ugly name. We did pursue adoption for a time and for reasons that are complex and personal, we concluded it was not the right path for us. |
| OP I need whatever you're smoking to get me through this pandemic. It seems like some gooooooood stuff! |
Judgy PP before you is an asshole pot-stirrer. Please just ignore. <3 |
| Wha?? |
Ours doesn't. |
| It's a red flag when a couple has terrible friends. |
| You sound simple and immature. |
Oh please don't OP is talking about married people only having one child, the fact that single people are parenting one child will probably blow their mind and create a whole new thread because OP doesn't understand that a family may not be mom, dad and 2 children, a boy and a girl with a house in the suburbs with a white picket fence. Op is probably having a heart attack just reading that. It's all too much

+1. I think I recognize this poster as well and he comes across consistently as simple, immature, and often downright misogynistic. You can spot him by his use of "gals." |
I deeply regret not giving my son my last name. He is the very last boy in the family line. I wasn't married when he was born but it didn't occur to me not to give him his father's name. The divorce was final only three weeks after my second was born, but I wanted the two to share a last name. I still feel like an idiot and wish I'd followed your idea. I am a hyphenate professionally, but use my maiden name outside of that. I'm working on name changes for both of my children. TLDR/ I should have listened to my mother. |
A troll |
If the divorce wasn’t final for another 3 weeks, you were still legally married. |
