3 pizzas for 15 kids and 30 parents is not enough. |
I know a foreign service officer’s wife who started a gofundme after her husband refused to pony up the cash to repatriate a stray dog they’d adopted overseas. And, yes, she raised over $1500 to do so. Much tackier than travel sports trips fundraising, but in the same vein. |
Yes, there are a lot of cultural differences with this |
This is tacky. Don’t hold the event? Change the venue, provide the option for guests to purchase food and beverages, encourage a brown bag lunch party explaining what you’ll provide, or shorten the duration. But don’t hold a party if you can’t feed me? I guess you wouldn’t go to a wedding without a reception? |
I think that’s more than enough food. People would have a slice of pizza, some salad, and some fruit. Heck, most of the women won’t have anything other than a couple of bites of lettuce. Healthy, filling, and delicious. |
Already *asked* and answered on page 4. |
| Wedding registries are an etiquette minefield. If you want to be sure you don’t offend anyone, don’t register if either half of the couple is: (1) over the age of 30, (2) already has a child, and/or (3) has been married before. And while it is becoming more acceptable in some circles, you’re going to get side eye if you register for a honeymoon, down payment, or college fund. That doesn’t necessarily mean you shouldn’t do it, but understand that some people are going to have feelings about it. |
3 pizzas is 24 pieces for 45 guests... |
LOL!! Perfectly stated. |
Well, I know that Karen, Rebecca and Larla will only have one slice each, if any at all. Everyone else gets 2. |
| Virginia residents do not necessary want to go to UVA. We don't all think it's a great school. |
The guests are the CHILDREN. The adults are the chauffers. I'd add a cheese and cracker tray for the adults to nibble on, and get over it. Pizza at a kids party is for the kids. Three large pizzas, double-cut, is more than enough for the actual guests: the children. |
