What???? That’s plenty of food. What type of gluttonous people are you inviting that you need more than that? It’s just wasteful and promotes obesity

Thanks Michelle.

An invitation is not a summons.

3 pizzas for 15 kids and 30 parents is not enough.

Yes, it's tacky to start a GoFundMe for vacations, travel sports trips, etc.

If you have to ask, it's a MLM. Don't buy the product.

I know a foreign service officer’s wife who started a gofundme after her husband refused to pony up the cash to repatriate a stray dog they’d adopted overseas. And, yes, she raised over $1500 to do so. Much tackier than travel sports trips fundraising, but in the same vein.

-Respond promptly to all invitations. Even if your response is, "Because of Tim's fluctuating schedule, I probably can't let you know until X." But respond promptly, always.

This is solid DCUM advice.

Yes, there are a lot of cultural differences with this

NP to add: not having enough food and drinks for your invited guests is tacky! If you can’t afford to feed them or lack the planning/mathematical skills to make it work, don’t hold the event!

This is tacky. Don’t hold the event? Change the venue, provide the option for guests to purchase food and beverages, encourage a brown bag lunch party explaining what you’ll provide, or shorten the duration. But don’t hold a party if you can’t feed me? I guess you wouldn’t go to a wedding without a reception?

I think that’s more than enough food. People would have a slice of pizza, some salad, and some fruit. Heck, most of the women won’t have anything other than a couple of bites of lettuce. Healthy, filling, and delicious.

Wedding registries are an etiquette minefield. If you want to be sure you don’t offend anyone, don’t register if either half of the couple is: (1) over the age of 30, (2) already has a child, and/or (3) has been married before. And while it is becoming more acceptable in some circles, you’re going to get side eye if you register for a honeymoon, down payment, or college fund. That doesn’t necessarily mean you shouldn’t do it, but understand that some people are going to have feelings about it.

Well, I know that Karen, Rebecca and Larla will only have one slice each, if any at all. Everyone else gets 2.

The guests are the CHILDREN. The adults are the chauffers. I'd add a cheese and cracker tray for the adults to nibble on, and get over it. Pizza at a kids party is for the kids. Three large pizzas, double-cut, is more than enough for the actual guests: the children.
