Having DH get a vasectomy before we seperate

I absolutely would if you could convince him. You want your kids to always be #1 in his life. Or at least 2 & 3 if he’s the type to place a new woman over his kids.

OP if you are worried about to whom he leaves his estate, make a life insurance policy on him payable to the kids part of the divorce. You be the owner of the policy. If it's whole life, so much the better (builds cash value).

Bad idea. He will just blame you if he doesn't really want it.

Nothing can stop a non caring dad from replacing his kids. He could even "replace" them with a new girlfriend's kids who aren't his. Happened to one of my cousins. Her dad sent his girlfriend's daughter to college but refused to pay to send his own daughter.

But do you understand that is not up to you to “make sure his kids are #1”

He either will put his kids first post divorce or won’t- but manipulating him to get a surgery to try and force it (or out of spite, which seems to be at play too) is wrong on so many levels.

You people are truly, truly sick.

Hi, New Woman!

Try again. I’ve been cheated on and my ex got the woman pregnant. I’m just not a sick psychopath.

That's a kind description. Evil and manipulative are more accurate. Karma is a bitch and so are you.

I can understand this.

I posted on another thread about how my ex fought to reduce CS to pay for his new wife’s fertility treatments. That’s not the argument he used in court, but he was open about it with our younger child, trying to get her excited about a potential sibling.

Wow. I'd be so pissed, PP. That sucks.

I did this. If he really want a kid he still can but it will alleviate any oops.

He’s lied for the past five years, I don’t think I’ll move past it, but what keeps me from wanting to leave is the thought of him starting a new family at 40 with some late 20-something because now he has money.
It’s petty, but so were a his really stupid lies.

You can die in a car accident and he could still start a new family.

I got mine in my early 40s since we were done having kids by then. Of the 7 men in the doctor's office that day for surgery, I was the only one having it done -- the other 6 (all 50+) were having it reversed.

Well, you obviously didn’t learn from the experience. If your ex had a vasectomy, you would have been dealing with cheating instead of cheating AND a pregnancy.

No PP just thinks its morally wrong to try to control someone else's fertility. His body - his choice.

Now if you want to scare him OP- remind him if he has kids with another woman he won't be able to retire until that kid is out of college.

Jeez Why don't you just cut his dick off?
