I don't like his performance today either. But he will never be your typical politician. He says what's on his mind.

Imagine Obama at a summit with Iran, attacking Wolfowitz, Cheney, the CIA, but not the Iranians.

Sure, he says what's on his mind - and the thing on his mind is siding with Russia over America. This is really indefensible. Even Fox isn't trying to defend it, though I'm certain soon they will find a way to twist this into being all Obama's fault.

Yes, there was just a R house rep. from Florida saying that we were only hacked in the first place because of the weak leadership of Obama.

Too bad GOP leaders only find their conscience when they're leaving office.

@JeffFlake
I never thought I would see the day when our American President would stand on the stage with the Russian President and place blame on the United States for Russian aggression. This is shameful.

I do have a serious question though for those of you and truly think you are witnessing the destruction or demise of America: What is it exactly that you fear is being destroyed? Do you really think that all the freedom you enjoy (and always have because nobody has been able to destroy it up to this point) is truly at risk? You'll have a new President in a few years. Even if something gets broke, it will be fixable.

This may or may not be a concern of yours, but many (most?) conservatives worry that gun control laws are the beginning of the end of American freedom? Can you really not see why many of us wouldn't have a similar view of a POTUS who downplays/dismisses election interference? Or one who systematically discredits our free and open press?

Of course, Trump is just a symptom of a bigger problem when it comes to disenfranchising millions of Americans.

They're covering Lisa Page's 2nd day of testimony. Oooo, earth shattering.

Trump is bragging about Putin's offer to have Russian investigators come and investigate Russian government meddling into the election. Dear lord, he's insane.

President Donald Trump just bragged that Vladimir Putin has offered to send Russian government investigators to investigate Russian government meddling in the 2016 US presidential election.

That is not a joke.

It’s the “interesting idea” Trump mentioned during the press conference after Monday’s closed-door meeting between the two leaders. An idea he said Putin proposed to address Russian involvement in America’s last election and its potential interference in future ones (including the 2018 midterm elections).

Apparently, the Russian president suggested that he send his own people to investigate the 12 named Russian employees of the GRU (the country’s military intelligence agency) indicted Friday by special counsel Robert Mueller. They were charged in connection with the hacking into the email server of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and the publishing of hacked emails under the guise of “lone hacker” Guccifer 2.0.

Paul Ryan says he has not seen the interview and did not know that it was happening...

They've spun it. Current headline at Fox News. "Putin denies meddling as leaders tout summit as ‘success'"

Someone put a sign at the circle on 16th St NW where you enter DC from Maryland that says, “Welcome to the United Soviet States of America!”

Did he truly, because that's what people have been guessing he would say. Predictably spineless.

What I fear is we may not have free and fair (its a relative phrase, but I mean not interfered by foreign power) election anymore. GOP will remain in power in 2018 and 2020. Trump will ruin all protections for citizens, pack the judiciary with incompetent sycophants and GOP will not have any check on him. Citizen will tune out news media and trump will curtail news media's power while empowering Fox (or some other media) as the state media. By 2024, we would be a authoritarian oligarchic country like Russia, having elections with no power in the hand of people.

My theory is that the GOP has been swaying elections via their Republican owned voting machines for years, and that there is evidence of this on the RNC emails that were hacked. Hence the GOP fealty to Russia.

Very possible..

Any evidence that you would like to share?

No, I have no evidence. Hence my calling it “my theory.” But what else is there that could inspire the ENTIRE GD GOP to just go limp in the face of treason? Repeated treason. And they just shrug.

I will say that it’s odd that no matter how much enthusiasm there is on the liberal side, the vote so frequently squeaks to the GOP’s side; you need look no further than 2016 to see that. Of course you could keep looking to states like Wisconsin that has had a history of the GOP squeaking it out.

He makes some version of that statement every time there's a Trump-related explosion.

Even if that's true, what Trump said is shameful and embarrassing. I don't know how you Rs can stand by this. But then, I guess it's not a big surprise coming from a group of people who would still support Trump even if he shot someone on 5th ave or thinks there are "good people" on the side of white supremacists.

I am not surprised at how Rs can spin, deflect and downplay Trump's perfidy and stupidity. I am not surprised at all that Trump stated what he said. I was expecting it.

But his followers will believe him. Guess that makes them stupid, too.
