Trump sides with Russia, attacks America

I looked through Ryan, McConnell, Rubio, Cruz and GOP twitter accounts and they are completely silent on the summit. It is almost like we will ignore this and move along as if nothing happened and Trump and Putin did not announce their affair publicly.

I'm conservative and I'm not a fan of this. I do have a serious question though for those of you and truly think you are witnessing the destruction or demise of America: What is it exactly that you fear is being destroyed? Do you really think that all the freedom you enjoy (and always have because nobody has been able to destroy it up to this point) is truly at risk? You'll have a new President in a few years. Even if something gets broke, it will be fixable.

I don't personally feel America is "destroyed," but America "has" been compromised, specifically around one of the most critical democratic institutions: elections. There's not currently any public evidence that votes were changed, but people who don't feel the attacks on the DNC and release of stolen emails did *not* influence voters and influence the election are being disingenuous. This election was won by Trump by 70K people, that's it.

So, I think there is reason to be concerned that this is only the beginning of what may be compromised, as long as Congress sits idly by and/or Trump continues to pretend Putin is a friend.

You really don’t see election rigging - because that’s what it is when you illegally break into the oppositions’ data, steal their strategies, and leak compromising information - as a fundamental threat to democracy?

I vote with the information I have available. If one side is committing felonies to win, I believe that I deserve to know.

If you’re not on my side on this, you have zero respect for our Constitution.

What I fear is we may not have free and fair (its a relative phrase, but I mean not interfered by foreign power) election anymore. GOP will remain in power in 2018 and 2020. Trump will ruin all protections for citizens, pack the judiciary with incompetent sycophants and GOP will not have any check on him. Citizen will tune out news media and trump will curtail news media's power while empowering Fox (or some other media) as the state media. By 2024, we would be a authoritarian oligarchic country like Russia, having elections with no power in the hand of people.

it will take years to restore our reputation with our allies, who must always fear this could happen again.

What do you think they talked about for those two hours? I have a hard time picturing Trump having a conversation with anyone for two hours without it being all about him - do you think he just talked about himself all morning?

I'm a conservative and I too believe this. But Trump has done a surprisingly effective hatchet job on the State Department. I dunno what he'll be able to do in the next year or two.

I don't think President Trump attacked America. He attacked Mueller, Strozk, Pakistani guy, and FBI investigators who didn't take possession of DNC servers. I don't think we should equate those with America.

I don't like his performance today either. But he will never be your typical politician. He says what's on his mind.
