Maybe. How could all of these adults (parents and daycare providers) be around this baby and not notice that the child has broken bones? Something isn't adding up. |
| I'd never hire a grown man to be an infant babysitter. Something's just bizarre about that. Sorry, guys. |
|
Come on now, that's ridiculous. By all accounts this looked like a normal guy, with a wife and baby, in a sweet looking house with what looks like a clean and bright daycare online. That's what makes this so horrific. People are on this forum saying I'd never leave my kids in a home daycare with a male provider. You just don't want to imagine the nightmare that this could happen to you. I know I don't want to. God forbid. For people in this area with small children in daycare, this story just hits too close to home.
I can't stop thinking about this story. It makes me sick to my stomach. I feel like I have to know why. Why? Did this person snap? Why is it that many times when something like this happens the person's neighbor and family say the alleged suspect appeared to be a normal guy, no criminal record, 14 years in childcare, no complaints. What in the world? Did he have something against the parents? Did he have a psychotic break? The evidence points to this guy, not the parents. That's almost worse. It's like you almost wish it were the parents because their pain is unimaginable. Unimaginable. My heart breaks for them and for the innocent baby. |
I can't stop thinking about this story either. I'm a nurse and reading about the injuries and knowing it was done to a baby makes me sick! I have similar feelings of why was this done? What happened? My son is in daycare as well and I just can't fathom what those parents are going through right now. |

My thoughts and prayers are with those moms.
I can not imagine what they are going through. I hope that some day they are able to find peace. |

My heart goes out to that precious, innocent little baby. The idea that there were numerous injuries to this child over the course of at a least a few weeks is gut wrenching.
I just don't understand how no one saw that this baby had a broken arm or leg weeks before her death. How is that possible? |
Neglect, that's how. I would not be surprised if the parents are also being investigated. I notice new bruises from when my kid falls in the playground, I sure as heck would notice broken bones. |
I would caution anyone not to jump to conclusions about this based on one line in the police report. There is only one person who was arrested, and no suggestion that there is any evidence of anyone else responsible. |
| Is there any more news on this story? I would like to hear a motive or at least a theory for a motive. I can't get this horrible story out of my mind. |
+1 It all sounds fishy. |
Yes, it's quite possible that this child was abused at home and died at daycare from injuries she endured from her parents. So many multiple injuries in different stages of healing, I hope the truth comes out. |
You realize that people who know the parents and baby are reading this thread, right? The funeral was today. Baby was lovely and happy every time I saw her. I'm not sure there will ever be a good answer. |
| As a mom to three children, I cannot imagine how the mothers did not notice anything amiss with their child, their only baby. Just changing her diaper alone, they should have noticed something was wrong. I still don't feel like this is the entire story. She hadn't even been at daycare that long that morning and had napped for a portion of it. What if she had been beaten at home, brought in, and then woke up from her nap and started vomiting? She napped in her stroller, I believe. It would explain the blood there. And what would be a motive? It wasn't like she was a colicky, screaming handful (not that that would be a reason to torture the child), and for someone who's taking care of multiple children, why would she be targeted? I just don't feel like this makes any sense. |
+1. My god- these parents have suffered enough. We don't know the full story but please don't jump to conclusions until we hear more about the evidence. |
I don't know, I just can't imagine two mothers beating their child. I wouldn't jump to this conclusion before more information is released. There's a reason why only one person was charged. The police are usually pretty quick to take a look at the parents and if they have a strong reason to believe the daycare worker was the only person responsible, like the artciles state, then I'd believe they've got some pretty convincing evidence that they haven't released to the papers. I do find the "healing injuries" strange and wonder when we will know more about that. But the daycare workers removal of the name of the child from their cubby etc is really strange behavior. |
