Absolutely ill over this. Daycare provider in Rockville arrested for murder

Until there is more evidence it's equally likely they could both (parents and provider) could have harmed the child.

I read a post recently where a mom said a home daycare provider wouldnt provide references, and she asked if that was a red flag. Of course it is! And yet a bunch of moms chimed in and said, no it's fine! Back in the 70s, my mom had a job interview or something and sent me to a home based day care for the day. I distinctly remember the teacher giving us all tyelnol and putting us to "nap." I must have been 4. My mom never sent me there again.

This. Please get to know with whom you're leaving your child.
Please!!

This guy went through a preliminary hearing already and was indicted. There must be enough evidence against him to convince the judge to go to trial, also none of the charges were reduced after the prelim hearing. You can look up the court case info here: http://casesearch.courts.state.md.us/casesearch/inquiryDetail.jis?caseId=129521C&loc=68&detailLoc=MCCR

It will be a while before the public knows the exact evidence. Trial date is set for September 12th.

This scumbag was indicted on August 11th for two additional charges of 1st degree child abuse and assault first degree. Not a lawyer but it's got different trial dates than those for the poor baby he [allegedly] killed... wondering if another family's baby was hurt? The original charges for Millie already included 1st degree child abuse, so I'm thinking this is regarding a different child. SO sad. Hope justice is served even though it won't bring back that beautiful baby.

There is a bond review hearing scheduled for May 12th. Does this mean that depending on what his lawyers present, the judge could let him out on bail? I've googled but haven't been able to get a clear idea of what "bond review" means.

There is something so wrong with this. When my boy was that age his mother and I knew every square millimeter of him. We would notice the smallest bruise or scratch. The severe (healing) injuries that are described do not seem to be something that any normal parent could possibly miss or ignore. Absolutely no way. Either something is being misreported or there are more arrests coming. That poor child.

I didn't see that there were old/healing injuries in the article. Just that the injuries were consistent with multiple instances of physical abuse, and could have been inflicted over the course of say, several hours, that same day.

Did you read it? It said specifically "healing injuries."

There is something really fishy going on there and does not make sense. What are they not reporting on?

This...something really strange is going on here.

It looks like this guy basically was only caring for two children--his own and the victim. Sounds like they were just trying to make a quick buck and get some tax writeoffs and he probably saw the victim as a burden and beat her to death because she cried and was annoying him or his own child. He had no experience caring for kids.

How many times do you think he never took the victim out of her stroller all day after she was dropped off in it and just left her there?

Who leaves their child with a male day care provider?!

Glad he was convicted. Don’t remember hearing about this case 2 years ago.

Not only that, a male daycare provider with no other kids in his care besides his own infant. It just makes abuse and/or neglect that much easier to get away with. It's obvious the poor little girl was just a cash cow for him.
