That's a good question.

Does the biological father know his child was killed?

How the heck would we know? It may be an anonymous donor.

You obviously don't know. It's ok, so pls don't worry about it.

Perhaps someone else here may know...

This article has a link to his resume. He managed to switch jobs, whether it was in ECE or something else, every year or so. Sometimes it was even sooner. Scary --there had to be a reason he was switching from one caregiver job to another so quickly. Either he actually hated the work but was stuck -- or the centers realized he was a dud. I'm sure Millie's poor parents had their reasons for choosing that home care but I wonder if they had chosen differently if they had seen his track record.

As far as the healing injuries, it almost makes me wonder about that brittle bone disease. Rare, but maybe it's possible?

Unless, he had major red flags and his background check and fingerprinting. However, not all day cares are like this in fact most many, most of them are not. I run and in-home daycare and would never even consider harming any of the kids in my care. I love them and treat them with love and respect. I have seen a lot of bad day cares in the news. Be sure to get references and check up on them from time to time if you have any doubts. Good day cares are out there .

plus 1. I adore my home daycare, and have even chosen to keep DD there for her 3 rd year instead of going to the school I work at now....

Will they take a look at the daycare's child's health?

+100 I would never, ever leave my child in the care of a male childcare provider. I spent more that a decade teaching preschool, and in the years of going to classes and seminars with other childcare professionals, I saw one, maybe two males. The vast majority of men don't have the large amount of patience or the desire and enthusiasm to spend all day with a group of young children.

That poor child. The whole thing just breaks my heart.

That's what I wonder. How do parents not notice?

I would not leave my child in a home that was in the business of childcare and I would not ever do this as a business in my home. The liability is enormous. For me to leave my kid in a daycare , I would require lots of people around, windows, and an educated staff. Many have cameras as well.

I can't imagine a "licensed" place with no windows??

The vast majority of PEOPLE don't have the patience to spend all day with a group of young children. Their own, sure. More than that? Every day? There's a reason I wasn't hosting playdates every chance I could.

Two of my kids' favorite preschool teachers were men. I trust my kids with my husband and my brother. I was bereft when our male pediatrician retired.

I'm sorry you don't know any men who love children.

You can't- there have to be windows at a certain height and a direct exit. Where did it say it was a windowless basement?

It didn't. I'm not sure what the PP was referring to.

There are some pictures of the center on yelp: http://www.yelp.com/biz/little-dreamers-creative-learning-center-rockville

If they have, they have not been updated online. I tried to call the early childhood education (whatever the dept name is) to ask about this and couldn't get hold of anyone.

Agreed- we looked at a licensed daycare that has been in business for several years- they swore to me they have been inspected regularly- and this was verified by a parent I knew who witnessed one inspection- but the inspection results are not showing up on the checkccmd website. Someone is not doing their job updating the website.

PP again- I think enough of us called to complain because I just checked again and now this daycare's results from early 2015 are updated in the website.

Anyway, this story is so sad and makes my stomach churn.
