The day care is a home day care, Little Dreamers.

I just don't understand how the baby had multiple injuries in "different stages of healing."

I checked inspection records on it. No inspections since 2011. How often are home day cares supposed to be inspected?

I was just about to post this. That poor, poor, baby. My heart breaks thinking about what she went through.

Regarding the inspection records, my guess is that the center was so new that it hadn't been inspected yet. It looks like facilities (center or in-home) are inspected at license issue and renewal, unnannounced after a complaint, and unannounced annually at 20% of all centers (chosen randomly): http://download.militaryonesource.mil/12038/MOS/Articles/Maryland_childcare.pdf

I found a baby registry for the couple at buy buy baby, with a due date of 5/21/2015. I'm guessing they opened their center within the past year.

Horrifying. That poor baby. JFC. WTF is wrong with people.

Can't even read the story-- even reading headlines makes me ill. But when we were filing our taxes, I noticed there was a MD tax deduction if you are an un?licensed day care provider. WTF.

OMG. I know the owner.

How is it possible that the baby's parents would not notice if their baby was coming home from daycare with broken bones? That makes zero sense. Maybe it's the parents.

Good God. What is wrong with people. Those poor parents.

There is something so wrong with this. When my boy was that age his mother and I knew every square millimeter of him. We would notice the smallest bruise or scratch. The severe (healing) injuries that are described do not seem to be something that any normal parent could possibly miss or ignore. Absolutely no way. Either something is being misreported or there are more arrests coming. That poor child.

I remember seeing this daycare's website when I was searching for an in-home provider in Rockville recently. Freaked out when I saw this article.

I didn't see that there were old/healing injuries in the article. Just that the injuries were consistent with multiple instances of physical abuse, and could have been inflicted over the course of say, several hours, that same day.

Did you read it? It said specifically "healing injuries."

There is something really fishy going on there and does not make sense. What are they not reporting on?
