Bowser has zero charisma, all you need is a machine! |
Another Ward 4 resident who genuinely detests her, but I do know that there's a certain contingent (white, excitable, moved here in the last 5 years) who are giddy about JLG. These are the people who brought us Nadeau and then moved north to continue a path of nonsense. |
I think the point was that you can't claim JLG is popular in her home ward when, in fact, hardly any of her constituents have ever voted for her. |
It's the same tired excuse for basically all elected politicians. I mean, it's kind of strange...but DC turnout is highest in Presidential election years, so she won in 2024 when DC turnout is the highest. Considering, the vote for President isn't remotely close, you might think the Mayor elections would have the highest turnout, but in fact it's not even close. DC had 70% of the electorate turn out in 2024 while only 41% in the 2022 Mayoral election. |
We get really terrible candidates for office in DC. If people liked their choices, they'd vote. |
I get your point, but remember it's the primary that counts in DC. Seeing as there was no Dem presidential primary last year (thanks Biden) and most DC voters are Dems, turnout for the primary (i.e. the de facto general election in DC) was rather low. Sure, we got a lot of turnout in November, but that's not a relevant election for DC office. |
| Feels like the Trumpy police union guy and his lackeys have entered that chat. Have fun on DCUM. You'll lose again. |
By that measure you also can't claim that she's unpopular just that you and your little bubble don't like her. |
85 percent of adults in Ward 4 have never voted for JLG. |
+1 If you think cars should be banned in D.C. and that people who make $100,000 are rich and that the police department should be closed and replaced by violence interrupters and if you think charter schools are evil, you're probably excited about Janeese Lewis-George. |
This is nonsense statistics. I bet 85% of adults in Ward 4 have never voted in a Ward 4 election at all, no matter the candidate. If she was truly unpopular, then tons of people would have come out and voted for Lisa Gore (a centrist candidate...who perhaps lost because she is centrist). |
Thanks, hyperbole! Anything else you want to fabricate? |
| Nonsense statistics and Fox News style scares! 'tis the season for the worst of society to try to drag down someone trying to do actual good for the people of DC. I might have to keep track of how often you post this garbage and add volunteer hours for Janeese every time you post. |
No one has any idea who Lisa Gore is. But everyone knows who JLG is and 85 percent of her constituents said "no thanks." Winning a primary that almost no one voted in, against a candidate few have ever even heard of, does not mean you're popular. It just means you won a primary that almost no one voted in, against a candidate few have ever even heard of. |
Nice try. Not voting for someone = "no thanks"?? Some people just don't care to vote. Care to make up anything else? |
