Janeese is an excellent candidate for people who think Bernie Sanders is way, way too conservative. For everyone else, she would be a nightmare. |
Remember how schools were closed for a ridiculously long time during the pandemic? JLG was fighting to re-close schools *for months* after they had finally reopened because was the teacher's union hand puppet. Parents voting for JLG is like chickens voting for Colonel Sanders, as the saying goes. |
In hindsight, Gray was really quite good. Who is closest to that style? I really don’t want a business person. |
Gray was an old school DC Democrat. They don’t really exist anymore. The energy is now with the DSA wing of the party. |
Whether she cared or not is immaterial. She was hopeless. Crime went way up, traffic deaths went way up, DCPS went to shit - and she drove youth crime way up and learning outcomes way down by keeping schools closed to keep WTU happy so the membership wouldn’t vote for Robert White - and almost every city agency bar the DMV steadily became completely useless at doing their jobs. Meanwhile, she took billions out of the hands of DC taxpayers and used it to make the likes for of Josh Harris, various developers, and various construction firms even wealthier. I couldn’t care less about her ideology or even her intentions. What I care about is that she has presided over the degradation of city services and the breakdown of law and order. She was a mayor for herself and her cronies. If you can’t see that, I’d be inclined to say that you deserve elected officials like her but unfortunately myself and others have to endure them as well. |
I do not like her at all. I'll be supporting Kenyan. |
She said she doesn't want it and she doesn't have the right personality for it. She has NO personality. |
What in the world are you talking about? I live here and have found Janeese to be quite reasonable and still progressive. |
Henderson. |
She had no issue siding with the Chevy Chase NIMBYs on the Civic Core project or being opposed to bike infrastructure that wasn't even in her Ward. No thanks. |
Ward 4 resident and this is news to me. Most of my neighbors can’t stand her. |
I really hope she runs! And if so, wonder if she would run and Dem or Independent. |
Well…she won the democratic nomination and her Ward 4 election quite easily. She beat Lisa Gore by 38 points in the primary. So, it’s hard to claim she isn’t popular in Ward 4…unless you are trying to argue that her voters have soured on her in just the last year. |
Barely anyone votes in primaries. She only got 10,000 votes. There's 90,000 people in Ward 4. I don't know anyone who doesn't think she's nuts. |
Ok...but if you don't vote, who gives a shit if you think she is nuts. Do you think that screaming into the wind (or in this case on DCUM) will result in different candidates elected? |
