Once again (since you seem a little scattered), all I'm saying that is that you're wrong to suggest JLG is popular in her ward, and the obvious evidence of that is that only 10,000 of her constituents, out of a possible 70,000, actually voted for her. By definition, you are not popular if you win with 14 percent of the support of your constituents.

To be fair, most people across the entire city probably don't vote in Council races, period. You can only really make an assessment based on who does vote. JLG has a very dedicated and very loyal small minority which is more than enough to get her reelected in a race like this. I think it will probably be enough to get her elected in a mayoral primary as well, but we'll see who else jumps in.

Go back and look at the Ward 4 Democrat council primaries for as long as you can. The most that ever voted in the 2000s was around 16,000 in 2016. Around 15,000 voted in 2024 which is the 2nd highest total.

There are 57,000 registered votes in Ward 4 and 46,000 registered Democrat.

It doesn't matter who the candidates are that are running...15,000 voters is about all that the primary will ever get.

It's hard to claim she has a small minority that is enough to get her elected, when she received 10,000 out of the 15,000 total votes.
