I don't live in her ward and know almost nothing about her, but it is impressive she already qualified for the match of public election funds in the first 4 hours of her campaign, something Murial didn't do for 2 weeks in 2022. |
+1 |
Could that be because she’s the first major candidate to emerge? |
|
Taxpayer funded elections.
Biggest scam on two feet. You have to pay for people you’d never support. |
You pay for it one way or another. Big money donors pay because there's an ROI... which comes at our expense. |
The DC government runs on bribery. |
I think people will appreciate her more once she’s gone. |
Only in comparison to who might succeed her. |
Nope. I'm looking forward to a mayor who will prioritize DC residents instead of suburban drivers and suburban business interests. |
I will appreciate that she is gone. |
Me too! Cannot wait. |
I don't like Bowser, but the people vying to replace her would be disastrous. Home rule will absolutely end if JLG is elected. She would be a gift to Trump. |
At least it shows on the ground support, unlike big donor based elections where the millionaires and billionaires own the candidates. |
Well then if you didn't have a reason to support JLG - you do now! |
You may be right. I voted for her as a protest vote against Todd only to realize he at least handled basic constituent services like sending the leaf collectors back around if they skipped your block. So if she could make me appreciate Todd I have no doubt that there's a successor in the wings who could make me appreciate her. Yay, D.C. |
