As a gay man, fk that. I’m not hiding in the closet so that I fit in with a bunch of MAGA relatives and neighbors. I create my family of choice, and it doesn’t include any MAGA idiots.

You don't sound like a happy person...

Seems pretty clear that the PP is being made unhappy by MAGA wanting to force him to be something he isn't.

Nope. I believe in making lemonade out of lemons and having a good, productive, purposeful, and happy life. No one is going to "make" me unhappy--and that includes people at work who allow bitterness and regrets to take over their lives.

Hands down the most on-target comment I’ve read in ages.

Actually it’s hand down the best indicator that one is not a minority, probably straight and more likely than not a man.

Most people who don’t care about politics are those who aren’t oppressed by political policies.

While most of my relatives are republican none are hard core MAGA. But, they don't see a decent alternative.

It sounds like PP is making lemons into lemonade. Creating a loving social circle full of people who love and accept you for who you are, as opposed to those who deride your lifestyle and wish to take away your rights is creating a happy life. And removing those who are bitter about other’s life style choices completely aligns with desiring a happy life.

My MAGA family member has always had a hard life. I don’t see him often. The few times that I communicate with him i do it with empathy, I try remembering that his life is very different than mine.

The post was not one of a happy person.

When decide your whole identity is wrapped up in being oppressed the oppression is everywhere. You really should go figure out what real oppression is to complete your understanding of how privileged you are in the US. Ridiculous

One of the hallmarks of MAGA seems to be a lifetime of making bad choices and then doubling down on their own bad choices, while blaming "Biden" or "illegals" or "leftists" or "Soros" or "Antifa" or "drag queens reading storybooks" or whatever else for their misfortunes.

Because they won’t degrade themselves?

That’s very silly.

This applies to maga 100x more than any other group.

Wah, my family doesn’t want anything to do with me because I support fascism, racism, and pedophilia! I don’t understand economics or science, help, I'm being oppressed!

Yep,

Who wouldn’t separate their family, and especially their children, from such people?

Ok, they suck too. Maybe we can get an island and put all these fake oppressed people from both sides of the political spectrum on there. They can spend their time yelling at one another. Since they yell at the TV or other people with so much of their time, the economy won’t even be impacted.

Problem solved.

Literally anyone is a decent alternative to fascism.

I have a MAGA relative that I avoid. She has become very angry and is really unpleasant. I have another couple of relatives that I'm sure voted for Trump but they are not MAGA. There is a difference. I don't agree with their votes, but their essential personalities have not changed. She is emboldened in that particular style they take on.

The others don't repeat crazy stuff, attempt to lecture me or put me down to my face. I don't need that in my life.
