Do men actually want a wife? Or is marriage mostly for women?

Whelp when the “man” runs off and is first to abandon child and mother that kind of puts the onus on the last one standing, no?

I mean, what if every single mom with an absentee mate just ran off like the male did? Or was a lazy pig in the home? Or neglected ther child(ren) like the males did?

Being married turned out to be its own form of loneliness, although a worse one than being single, because now I'm stuck due to the kids on top of it.

DH wanted to get married and have kids. I do think men like having kids. You need a wife or at least a woman to have the kid with and raise the kid with.

No

They just want food and as many progeny as possible, then skip town and do it again.

Men want kids the way kids want a dog.

My current boyfriend said he would definitely get married if I wanted to, but still views it as just a “piece of paper.”

Women seem to usually be the ones to want the ring and giving the ultimatums. It makes me wonder if men care at all about marriage itself?

Yes Men want a wife and Yes marriages is mostly FOR MEN.

Who wouldn't want a "wife" to pick up after them, do 95% of the childcare and household managing, also work for a paycheck, vacation plan, cook nutricious meals, dress cute and serve sxual release. Wives are awesome!

I actually think because men value marriage so highly is why they tried to portray women who “don’t accomplish” it as failures or freaks. They’ve pushed so hard to make women feel like they MUST get married (or else), lest these poor men be alone and having to care for themselves. The patriarchy once again working against women to the benefit of men. Now that everyone is all #girlpower and do what you want, we suddenly have the male loneliness epidemic. Because women aren’t being societally forced to be with them.

Why is this being a troll? Do you actually talk to men? I have male friends who are confirmed bachelors and have never married either. They don’t seem eager to marry. That’s why I’m wondering if it’s usually only women who want marriage.

Even better if she never wants to legally get married! Just act and behave like a butt-kissing live-in girlfriend, with no commitment, the holy grail!

Only thing better than one wife is a harem of wives and children!

That’s what led you to post the OP!? Your male friends of no given age or SES are “confirmed bachelors.”

Sheesh.

Why don’t you ask them what their life goals and values are.
